Founded in March 2007 by Musical Theatre Stafford (then Stafford Operatic Society), MYTS aims to foster a love of musical theatre, singing, acting, dancing and performing in children between the ages of 8 and 18. Through skills based performance, creative workshops and annual fully-staged productions and concerts, MYTS strives to provide a focused, friendly and fun environment that allows the chil
dren to develop in both skill and confidence. Since their inception, MYTS have gone from strength to strength averaging fifty to sixty members a year and performing their annual show at the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre each July. Bringing shows like Dr Suess’ Suessical the Musical, Footloose, Les Misrables, and Westside Story to the Gatehouse Theatre, as well as their two NODA (National Operatic & Dramatic Association) Award winning shows Children of Eden in 2011 and Honk! In 2015, and their three NODA nominated shows, Legally Blonde in 2017, High School Musical in 2018 and Godspell in 2019. Wind in the Willows was performed in 2022 after a break due to the pandemic. We are now rehearsing for We Will Rock You (Young at Part) to bring this fantastic musical to the Gatehouse Theatre in July 2023
