The time has come to get creative and start to plan your scarecrow for this years entry into our scarecrow festival trail. This years theme is nursery Rhymes. If you need inspiration there are plenty of ideas on Google!!
Entry forms are available online but I am also very happy for you to email me to register your entry. [email protected]

The title of your scarecrow/s
The location.
If you are entering as a private resident or a business/ club.
Age of designer if under 16yrs
Scarecrows must be registered for judging and on display by 12 noon 15th Aug.

Stowe WI host a very popular coffee morning every month in Stowe Village Hall. Everyone is made to feel welcome. It’s a great place to make friends and chat with neighbours. Why not pop along ?

Stowe By Chartley has entered this years Best Kept Village Competition.
This year the BKVC celebrates its 70th Anniversary and Stowe Village Hall celebrates its 100th Anniversary.

Both the BKVC and Stowe Village Hall have something in common. Both are supporters of local communities.

Over the last century our village hall has been the centre of many community events, street parties, New Year’s Eve parties, discos, quizzes, coffee mornings and more recently table tennis.
Stowe By Chartley Parish covers a wide area, it important to remember the village hall is for everyone in the parish not just its immediate neighbours.

This years events kicked off with the Community Planting Day in May. ( see a previous post)
The Sacrecrow Festival starts 15th Aug. Amerton Farm are donating a total of £85 prizes. The theme Nursery Rhymes, details of how to enter are on the Village Hall and Parish Council web sites.
The Annual Fete will be on 30th Aug and this year we are hoping to have more children’s activities.

The BKVC is not all about pretty villages any more, the organisation is keen to support and help build strong and happy communities. In recent times the judges award more marks for community spirit and engagement than how many flowers are on show.

We hope you will all join in with this years planned events. And if you have any new ideas we would love to hear of them.

What a lovely morning we had last weekend.
As part of the Best Kept Village project parishoners were invited to bring a container and choose plants free of charge to make a floral display that will hopefully bloom all summer.
Thank you to everyone who attended.
