🛠 Are you an organised Facilities Manager who enjoys keeping buildings safe, tidy, and running smoothly?
1st St Neots Scouts are looking for a Volunteer Facilities Manager / Caretaker to help look after our much-loved Scout Hut in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
Our Scout Hut is at the heart of everything we do — a safe, welcoming space for young people and the wider community. We’re seeking someone dependable and practical to oversee the day-to-day upkeep of the building.
🕒 Time commitment: Flexible, with occasional visits
📍 Location: St Neots, Cambridgeshire
🤝 Type: Volunteer role
What you’ll do:
✔ Carry out regular safety and maintenance checks
✔ Organise and oversee routine repairs and servicing
✔ Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and volunteers
✔ Ensure health & safety and fire safety standards are met
✔ Support with hall setup for events when needed
✔ Report facilities needs and priorities to the Trustee Board
This role is ideal if you:
• Are organised with a strong “can-do” attitude
• Enjoy problem-solving and working independently
• Have practical or facilities management experience (helpful, not essential)
• Are reliable and happy to be a keyholder
• Would like to give back to your local community
