The Caddie School for Soldiers supporting veteran recovery through the world of caddying. Andrews for a month to learn how to caddie. alone. together.

The Caddie School For Soldiers (CSS) is a veteran non-profit 501(c)(3) that has the mission of helping veterans from all over the world work through their physical injuries and/or Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) by bringing them to St. Roughly 22 veterans commit su***de every day in the U.S. The same tragedy is taking place all over the world. By bringing veterans to St. Andrews for a month and giving them goals to accomplish, we hope to help some of these veterans gain a sense of pride and accomplishment while also giving them the skills needed to find work as a caddie once home. While many graduates have gone on to rewarding careers as professional caddies, it isn't a requirement that a veteran who comes through the program finds work as a caddie. Our main goal is to help veterans discover that a meaningful and positive future is possible regardless of the struggles they may be going through. A unique aspect of our program is who we help and how we help. Veterans who apply can be from any branch of service AND have served during any time of war. Most organizations focus on the Post 9/11 era veterans however, we feel that veterans from prior war times still need our help as well so we encourage them to apply. Furthermore, veterans from all over the world may also apply. Each session we bring veterans from the US, Canada and the U.K.

⛳️ SEPTEMBER CADDIE SCHOOL — SESSION COMPLETE 🇬🇧
Six veterans. Six different stories. Six different challenges.

And six people who gave absolutely everything. 💪

Over the course of the session, golf once again proved to be about so much more than the game. It gave these six veterans a chance to challenge themselves, build confidence, reconnect with others and, most importantly, rediscover themselves again.

With the guidance of mentor Ken McIntosh, assistant mentor Mark Gaye, and the incredible tutelage of Davy Gilchrist every one of our caddies embraced the experience and left everything out on the course.

🏆 Caddie Trophy: Ian Saxenmeyer
🏆 Snyder Cup: David Scott. StAndrews — another victory!

The trophies are fantastic, but the real reward is seeing six veterans walk away with renewed confidence, friendships and a belief in what they can achieve.

A massive thank you to everyone who makes this possible, especially our incredible sponsors and friends Kohler , Scottish Saunas Dumbarnie Golf Links David Lawrence Glenmuir 1891 DP&L GOLF Crail Golfing Society Josh Bogle Fife Flyers Golf Inn @ Ladybank to name just a few. Your support changes lives. ❤️

To our six caddies — we’re proud of every single one of you. Return home and embrace your families!

Until the next session… ⛳️

⛳️ A great day at the Caddie School!
We were delighted to welcome the Crail Golfing Society, led by our good friend of the school, Norrie Hutcheon.

It was fantastic to meet some new golfers, share what we’re doing at the school and continue to build relationships across the golfing community.

Growing the reach of the Caddie School and introducing more people to the opportunities within golf is what it’s all about. 🙌

Thanks to Norris and everyone from Crail Golfing Society for coming along — we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Another day, another round of learning, building confidence and forging new friendships. ⛳️🤝
Caddie School For Soldiers had the pleasure of hosting golfers from New Golf Club St Andrews

With every round, our veterans are developing the skills needed to become great caddies but they’re also learning something just as important: how to adapt to different people, different situations and whatever the day brings.

It’s brilliant to see their confidence grow, relationships develop and new skills put into practice.

One round at a time. One connection at a time. 💪⛳️

⛳️🏴 A truly unforgettable day for our veterans at the world-famous Old Course, St Andrews.
We were incredibly fortunate to be given a tour by The R&A Honorary Professional David Scott. StAndrews who shared his fantastic knowledge, stories and passion for the game of golf.

From the iconic fairways of the Old Course to a fascinating look around the history-steeped clubhouse, it was a day filled with golf, history and some incredible memories.

As President of the Caddie School For Soldiers, David brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to everything he does. His passion and dedication to the school, and to supporting the next generation of caddies, is hugely appreciated.

A massive thank you to David for his time, generosity and for making the day so special for our veterans. 🙏

A brilliant day at Craigtoun, welcoming a number of veterans’ groups and seeing the real connection between caddies, golfers and the veteran community. ⛳️

It was a pleasure to host Mike Brown from Vector 24, alongside Dave Smith from Army Golf and the Black Watch Golf Association.

There’s a real synergy between caddying and the values of military service — teamwork, resilience, communication, discipline and, above all, supporting the person beside you.

The caddie role is about much more than carrying a bag. It’s about building trust, reading the situation and helping someone perform at their best.

Great people, great conversations and a shared passion for golf. Looking forward to seeing where these connections take us next.

Different backgrounds. Shared values. One great game. 🏌️‍♂️🇬🇧

☀️⛳ What a great late-summer day at the Craigtoun Course!
It was fantastic to welcome the Golf Inn @ Ladybank Inn for a day on the course and, more importantly, to see our caddies continuing to grow in confidence and knowledge.

As they become more familiar with the course, their confidence really starts to shine through — and it didn’t go unnoticed by the golfers either! 👏

It’s great to see the hard work, learning and experience coming together to create an even better experience for everyone on the course.

Thanks to Craig and the lads for joining us, and well done to our caddies on another great day! 🙌
