University of St. Andrews Knitting Society KnitSoc is the official knitting and crochet society of the University of St. Andrews. The University of St.

Andrews Knitting Society is a club which meets up regularly to knit and crochet together. We have many activities throughout the year such as day trips, yarn "bombing", socials, and contests. We range in level, and beginners are especially welcome– we love spreading the art of knitting! Join the Knitting Society committee next year and have a say in how this society grows!

Our AGM will be held in our usual Knit and Natter slot, Tuesday 24th March, 6-8pm, in the tutorial room of the Union. We will be voting via a Microsoft form that will be sent out on the day. You must be a paying member in order to apply for a role and to vote. The roles available are:
President
Vice-President
Treasurer
Secretary
Fundraising and Charities Officer
Teaching Representative
Ordinary Members Representative
Social Media Representative

Descriptions of the roles can be found in the post, and through our email, which will be sent soon.

To apply, please send us an email or DM saying why you would like to apply and why you think you fit the role in about 150 words. You can also give a small speech during the AGM if you wish. If you will not be present at the AGM, the application will represent you.

We’ll be playing a classic and cosy film to craft along with together! Feel free to bring some snacks to enjoy the show. It will take place this Thursday, the 26th of Feb, from 6-8pm, in Sandy’s bar. A bit of a late notice, but there is a spinning workshop this Thursday from 6 - 7:30 pm in Beacon Bar and the Union!

If you are around in the next couple days, please check out the workshop. A lot of you seem to really like the spinning workshops during term, so this is another chance for you to attend one!

Sign-ups are on Transition’s events page, with a £10 fee for buying a spindle, or alternatively, you can try making one on your own from upcycled materials around your house. The tutorial is on the events page.
