✨ Congratulations to DSA teacher Sophie Rose! ✨

We are delighted to share that Sophie Rose has successfully passed her Associate's Diploma with the BATD, achieving an outstanding Highly Commended result with an incredible 93% overall in both Performance and Theory! 🎉

Since joining the DSA team at the start of this academic year, Sophie has taught and performed with our Senior Tap class, helping to prepare students for exams and shows while bringing with her six years of previous teaching experience.

💬 Sophie Rose said:

"I am unbelievably grateful for the growth and joy that DSA has brought over the past year through working with Senior Tap. I am so honoured and proud to have been recognised with a qualification that allows me to mentor and submit students for dance exams. I'm excited to attend the upcoming BATD Annual Conference as an Association Member and to see what the future holds. My dream is to open my own performing arts school, so this is just the beginning!"

We are incredibly proud of Sophie's achievement and look forward to supporting her as she continues her teaching journey. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who took part in our recent marketing survey. Following your feedback, we are delighted to announce our new Building Highland class starting in August at Victory Memorial.
Classes will run on Tuesdays from 5.15–6pm at £4 per class.

Our updated Highland timetable:
Saturday
9.00–9.30am – Starting Highland
For beginners up to the age of 8.

Tuesday
5.15–6.00pm – Building Highland
Designed for older beginners and dancers with some foundational Highland knowledge, bridging the gap between beginner and main Highland classes.

Monday
6.00–6.45pm – Highland
Suitable for dancers who already know two or more Highland dances.
6.45–7.30pm – Scottish National
An opportunity for dancers with some Highland experience to learn Scottish National and Hebridean dances.

☀️SUMMER RESIDENCIES☀️

BYCA are delighted to be partnering with Fleur Darkin of Presence Projects to deliver our summer residencies for 2026!

Renowned writer/director and choreographer Fleur will work with BYCA staff to deliver this unique opportunity to young people from all across St Andrews and Fife!

Each group will create a unique piece of work to be performed exclusively at Pittenweem Arts Festival.

Stampede if You’re With Me will be an original and exciting physical theatre piece that gathers with the audience on the shoreline of Pittenweem.
