Mesdames, Mesdemoiselles, Messieurs.

I am Cyril Corneille, President of the French Society.

My fourth year at St Andrews will mark my third year serving the beautiful members of the French Society, in a myriad of capacities. This year, which I can only hope to be my final, promises much. Between our mythically generous Wine and Cheeses, our memorable French Dinners and several other events, you will be sure to find something to do at La French. This years committee is as diverse as our selection of solid milk, and although it is an international panel, trust in me that they have been properly vetted.

Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about memberships or events and we will be sure to answer at the same speed as French bureaucrats.

I’m Spike, back for another year of being the token Englishman on committee but promoted to Vice-Preisdent after successfully not maiming a single French person as Health & Safety officer! I’m a fan of all things French but especially French wine and cheese - something I like forward to induling in at our events across the year.

Hello les amis!
My name is Sarah, and I’m from Mauritius. YES, that small island in the Indian Ocean! I grew up surrounded by French culture and am proud to be part of the French committee for the third consecutive year. I was the Vice President two years ago and Treasurer last year.
I graduated this summer with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Sustainable Development from the University of St Andrews, and I’m back to begin a Master’s in Finance and Management.
Looking forward to all the events ahead and get ready for a memorable year!

Like all the best autocrats, I duly return to my very real position of PA to grand supreme atabeg Corneille for the coming year; and any autograph requests/scheduling enquiries for his supreme eminence should be directed to my desk. I’m Franco-English, though sadly inherited only the French height and English cooking skills; so look forward to simply drinking rather than cooking with the wine this year.

My name is Victoria, and yes, despite the very English-sounding name, I can assure you I’m at least 75% French.
I’m heading into my second year studying Classics, but this year, my biggest role will be making sure French Society stays FANTASTIQUE. If you are looking for me with any questions, I, like many people on this committee, will likely be found somewhere at Aikman’s.
Get ready for a year filled with wine & cheese nights, crêpes, fancy dinners, and, of course, champagne.

Hi all ! I’m Juliette, a second year IR & Econ student and former lycée AEFE student 😔. I’m this years publicity officer which means that all my canva knowledge acquired through years of EMC classes will finally be of some use. Looking forward to a fun year with the French soc !!

Hi all, Luana here! Although I am still from my favourite country of the Netherlands, I couldn’t deny that the French Soc wine and cheeses are some of my favourite events and so I’m back for another year!! I’ve upgraded from last year’s club nepo-baby freshers rep to your health and safety officer, where it is my first and foremost duty to prevent the conception of any future club babies…
Whether it’s protection with Cyril’s face on it or some plasters (let’s try shatter less glass this year) that you need… come find me and I’ll do my best to put my union training to work!!

Hello, my name is Charlie. I’m American but I enjoy many French things: big churches, dramatic artwork, the writings of Dumas and Victor Hugo, the Tour de France, Alexis de Tocqueville, the world’s best cuisine, St Andrews French Soc, and most of all the Bordeaux terroir which makes the greatest wine grapes in the world. I am your French soc alumni officer this year, looking forward to all the events we have to share with you this year!

Avery Cohen is a 4th year student in Mathematics and Philosophy, hailing from the beautiful town of Paris and the despicable city of New York.
As her 2nd year on committee, Avery has remained steadfast in her resolution to do as little as possible for the society (including this very introduction post), with an aptly named and newly created obscure committee position accompanying her hard work.
As the above image suggests, Avery ends up in unfortunate situations due to the impulsive behaviour of the President, with who she shares a flat. Don’t hesitate to contact her if you have any questions about anything! She will be delighted to receive your messages.
