Refugee Action St Andrews was started as a response to the plight of refugees and migrants in the UK and across Europe. We aim to show solidarity with people uprooted from their homes for whichever reason, be it war or economic hardship, through creating a platform where people can have

an open dialogue about these issues. In 2016 we affiliated with the University of St Andrews as a student society. We will continue our work as before by holding events, talks and fundraisers.

🎨Meet the Artist: Alina Litvinova

Alina is a visual artist who works with various mediums, including ceramics, glass and drawing. And as a community artist and curator, she promotes the idea that art can be created even without the money for expensive materials, and that inspiration can be found in everyday objects and the natural world around us.

Since she arrived in Scotland in 2022 she has taken lots of photos of nature on her way to the friends meeting etc.; she wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but beauty and interesting ideas surround us – you just have to look around.
