Did you know the importance of brushing a Highland cow?

Highland cows have thick coats that can collect dirt and become tangled. Brushing Highland cows keeps their coats clean and healthy, preventing uncomfortable mats from forming.

And you can help! During our Highland Cow Experience, you will have the opportunity to give the Highland cows a gentle brush. Book now!

The Importance of Rewilding!

Rewilding creates space for biodiversity to thrive and nature to recover. At Rewilding Kinkell, we are working to restore Scotland’s natural habitats, improve soil health, and support a diverse range of wildlife.

Through our team’s hard work, from planting trees to using Highland cows as natural grazers, we are helping transform the landscape and create a healthier, more biodiverse ecosystem. These efforts are creating new habitats for butterflies and a wonderful range of wildflowers.

We’re excited to share that over 13,000 trees have now been planted across the land at Rewilding Kinkell!

A huge thank you to our summer volunteers who are caring for the growing trees throughout the summer.

However, as with any rewilding project, there have been a few challenges along the way, with some deer nibbling in places. We have installed six new native habitat starter boxes that will protect the growing trees from browsing deer.
