🐰 Quick Update regarding the Rec Field 🐕

If you're heading down to the Rec shortly, you will notice some temporary fencing going up around the adult and junior football pitches.

Over the last few months, a pretty stubborn rabbit infestation has caused quite a bit of damage to the playing surfaces, making them unsafe for the upcoming football season. To sort this out properly, the Spratton Rec Charity, Spratton Football Club, local landowners, and the Parish Council are teaming up to address the problem safely, following official .gov.uk wildlife management guidelines.

How does this affect your visit?
Please keep your dogs on leads and off the fenced pitch areas for the time being.
The rest of the park remains open for your usual walks and exercise!
The fencing is only temporary and is scheduled to come down in late October.
We know how much everyone values this space—whether you're walking your dog, chasing a football, or just taking a stroll. This quick team effort will help protect the ground before the winter weather sets in, keeping it safe for the whole community.
Thanks so much for your understanding and cooperation over the next few weeks!

Dogs on the recreational Ground

Owners are not clearing up their dog mess and it is causing issues for everyone who uses this lovely open space.
The football club are having to clean up dog mess before each game and seven were reported to be found recently. This is unacceptable as young children are playing on these pitches and it can cause fatal consequences for them.
It is the responsibility of the dog owners to ensure they clean up the mess. Please report dog fouling to WNDC.
