The first day of the summer holidays, and unfortunately the anti-social behaviour has already begun.

Today, our volunteers repeatedly had to ask a large group of young people to stop climbing the fence and entering the 2G pitch without permission.

As many of you know, we have invested almost £500,000 into this facility. It is a bookable community facility, available to hire at a very low cost. Those booking fees are essential in helping us fund the ongoing maintenance programme that we are required to carry out to keep the surface safe and in good condition for everyone.

We are concerned about the safety of those entering the pitch illegally, the damage that could be caused, and the unnecessary deterioration of a facility that is paid for and enjoyed by many members of our community.

Sadly, we had no alternative but to report today's incidents to Lincolnshire Police due to the level of verbal abuse directed at one of our trustees who attended the scene. Images have also been shared with the relevant authorities.

Throughout the day, we received seven separate reports of the same group re-entering the facility after being asked to leave.

A polite request to parents and guardians: if your child is aged 14–15 and is out with friends today, please have a conversation with them about respecting our community, its facilities, and the people who volunteer their time to maintain them.

You may be reading this while your child is out in town today. If so, please remind them that climbing fences, trespassing, and verbally abusing volunteers is simply not acceptable.

We’d like to create a scarecrow with the Youth Club and would love your help!

If you have any spare materials at home, please bring them along. Useful items include:

• Old clothes
• Stuffing or clean straw
• String or twine
• Strips of wood or bamboo canes
• Fabric pens or paints
• Hats, wigs, scarves or accessories
• Any other bits and pieces you think we could use

Donations don’t need to be new, recycled and unwanted items are perfect!

Tonight at Spilsby Youth Club we had the wonderful Hannah Peacock - SessionsArts join us for a brilliant air-dry clay animal making workshop! 🐢🦛🐋🐄🐛🦆🐘

The young people had such a fantastic evening getting creative, learning new skills and bringing their amazing animal creations to life. From turtles and sharks to some very imaginative creatures, the talent and creativity around the table was incredible!

A huge thank you to Hannah for such a fun, engaging and hands-on session & everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! 💛
