Huge thanks to Emilly, Irene, Carole, Lois & Daisy for all your help in prepping and serving all that food on Saturday at the club house.
Hope you all enjoyed your fill, please leave any comments, good or bad, here so we can continue to improve.
Hopefully special diet parcels will be fully rolled out by next year, watch this space.
Hope you're all feeling fit now for your next event, mine is the fellsman in 2 weeks, I'll be catering at Dent checkpoint, hope to see you there for your Dent 99 !?! You'll only know if you've been there🙄😂

I hope you are feeling hungry tomorrow, this is Tony's stack of homemade cakes for the checkpoints and base. I think he thinks we have 500 entries! This is just a small amount of the pile of food he has laid on. If you haven't booked yet we are accepting entries on the day tomorrow.

The fires are out, and WYFS have given us the green light to commence as planned tomorrow with our original routes! While you're all out tomorrow, please respect the countryside, no naked flames on moorland, and report anything suspicious. See you all in the morning - let's do this!

We are aware of the wild fire last night that came exceedingly close to our route. The fire is now believed to be under control, we'll be monitoring the situation through the day today and will make a decision about any change to the route as soon as possible tomorrow. A possible change would just be the movement of 1 checkpoint.

These are our suggested routes, but you're free to navigate how best you see fit, as long as you visit each checkpoint in the correct order.
A GPS device is not a substitute for a map and compass, which all entrants must still carry (for a team of 4, 2 maps and 2 compasses are sufficient).

1 week to go and I hope you're all coming hungry!
At registration we'll have teas, coffees and breakfast sandwiches available for a donation.
Then, the checkpoint feast begins! Sweets, biscuits, sandwiches, cakes, fruit and more on all routes.
Plus, baked potatoes, pasta, curry, chilli and loads besides back at base when you finish!
This could well turn in to more of an elongated picnic than a hike!

Set in the beautiful high Pennine valleys of Calderdale, the routes run over tracks across the surrounding moors with stunning views of the area. Three routes of 35, 24 & 16 miles cater for all abilities and are open to both walkers & runners.

The required kit for the Calderdale Hike is pretty simple - a waterproof jacket, map, compass, whistle, survival bag and a mug! All essential items for a day in the hills. But, what's not on the list that you never set off on a hike without? The trusty waterproof boots? A wooly hat? Tunnocks caramel wafers? Let us know in the comments, you might just inspire someone else! 😀😀
