We also organise social events and holidays.

It's and we've been celebrating across Reach! Last night, we welcomed a group of carers to Flower Pod Southwell to make hanging baskets to take home. It was a lovely evening relaxing, connecting and enjoying something creative together.

Today we've hosted Drop-In sessions with Actons, offering advice, guidance and support across our centres. We were also delighted to hear that 96% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that they feel heard and valued at Reach, in our recent Carers survey.

This week is a great chance to shine the spotlight on why this work matters, and the importance of continuing to listen, learn and support our carer community. 💜

We've had a fantastic time celebrating , as we do every year. But it is important to continue to recognise the value of volunteers all year round! Their time, commitment and generosity underpin so much of what we do at Reach Learning Disability and make a lasting difference to the people we support.

Here are some beautiful reflections from our volunteers that capture the impact of being part of our community:
“A truly wonderful place where I feel valued and have a real sense of purpose with lovely people.”
“Such a happy, fun place. Always lots of laughs. I so look forward to my days at Reach and miss the clients when I am not there.”

These words reflect not only the contribution volunteers make, but also the relationships, purpose and sense of belonging that volunteering can bring.

Thank you to those who celebrated with us this week, and to every volunteer who continues to support our work throughout the year. Thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for supporting our valuable and essential volunteering programme. If you are interesting in volunteering for Reach, please email [email protected]

We are also very proud to be supporting adults with learning disabilities to start or develop their own volunteering journeys, building skills, confidence and connections in their communities.
