Boppin’ Bunnies are back at Mint Street Music Festival! 🎶

A favourite with families year after year, we’re delighted to welcome them again on Saturday 11 July from 11:00am to 12 noon.

Little ones can enjoy an engaging musical morning filled with movement, singing, and the chance to play instruments along to well-loved rhymes. It’s a joyful, interactive session that children adore.

Perfect for children aged 0-5, families and carers, it’s a lovely opportunity to share a special moment with your child and connect with other families in the community.

Bring a blanket, relax on the grass, and let the fun begin! 🌿

🕚 11:00am – 12:00pm

Please help us spread the word and share with other families in your network. Mark your calendars!

Just trying to figure out how I can anchor the bottom of this banner without damaging the wall…

This beautiful banner was hand painted by a couple of years ago. Look out for more banners appearing soon!

It would be much quicker and easier to get AI to come up with a design and print it out but Mint Street Music Festival has always been about celebrating human creativity.

Have you seen one of our new A5 posters around Borough?

What do you think of the new format? Plastic free, fully recyclable, tied with a bow for easy removal after the festival. Will anyone notice them though?

Mint Street Music Festival has been making a big effort to be single-use plastic free since 2015. Look out for our hand-painted banners too!

If you’re in SE1 you might’ve noticed that Mint Street Park stage is fenced off and in pieces. Don’t worry, we have been in touch with and the contractor and we’ve been reassured that a new, improved stage will be ready in time for on the 27th of June and on 11th of July. Watch this space! 🎶🎤🌈

Today in Eco Art Club we’ll be looking at Wildflowers and the insects they attract. The Marlborough Sports Garden has a green roof over the bicycle shelter planted with wildflowers, where you can see the Shard and Guys Hospital reflected in the background.

Wildflowers and wildlife don’t just turn up where they are invited though. We’ll be looking for the margins of the asphalt and neglected corners where the ‘weeds’ and ‘bugs’ creep through.

Eco Art Club is free, 3:30 to 4:30 at the Marlborough Sports Garden, Union Street SE1 on Fridays through May. Recommend for children aged 7-12.

Can you see Kevin’s face? Last week at Eco Art Club, the children decided that the two Gingko Biloba trees outside the Marlborough Sports Garden are called Kevin and Jerry. They are both male trees (female Gingkos bear fruit) and if you look carefully, there does seem to be a face peering out of Kevin’s bark.

Gingko trees can live up to 2500 years. We wonder what will happen during their lives. Summers will get hotter with global heating so the children suggested planting lots more big trees around the Marlborough Sports Garden to keep it cool. Also installing a giant fan at one end!

Eco Art Club will be back again 3:30 to 4:30 on Friday in the Marlborough Sports Garden and for Fridays through May. It’s free, recommended for children aged 7-12, come along and join in!
