Henri Gaobi & Kaogo brought incredible energy to the Mint Street Music Festival with their mesmerising African drumming performance. Their powerful rhythms captivated the crowd, creating an uplifting atmosphere that had people dancing and celebrating together.

A wonderful spoken word performance by Wieke from .unitypoetry 🎤✨

Wieke captivated the audience with a beautifully written poems, from the playful ‘To All The People Living At House Number 67’ to this thoughtful piece inspired by managing the school run in one of London’s recent heatwaves.

As we struggle to adapt Mint Street Music Festival (along with everything else) to cope with to rising temperatures, it’s good to follow Wieke’s suggestion and take a moment to pause and hold the implications of what we are living through.

Beautiful singing from Hanitra and her husband, who brought the sounds and musical heritage of Madagascar to the Mint Street Music Festival. 🇲🇬🎶

Their heartfelt performance gave the audience a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of Madagascan music and culture, creating a warm atmosphere.

We were delighted to welcome the Côr Y Boro, the Borough Welsh Choir to this year’s Mint Street Music Festival.

The choir performs regularly at the Welsh Chapel on Southwark Bridge Road, so it was a real pleasure to have the opportunity to hear them and share their music with our community before their evening concert in the chapel.

What a spectacular performance from Imperio Bamba! They lit up the stage with an electrifying fusion of Afro-Latin rhythms, Cumbia, Salsa, Reggaeton, and psychedelic sounds, bringing incredible energy and vibrant music to the festival.

🎶 It was 7Suns’ first time performing at the Mint Street Music Festival, and what an incredible performance!

7Suns is a London-based band whose music is an uplifting fusion of Afro, Reggae, Funk, Jazz, and Rock. Their infectious melodies, upbeat rhythms, and powerful rock influences create a sound that’s impossible not to dance to.

Founding member and composer Jay draws inspiration from the rich multicultural community he grew up in on the council estates of Brixton, South London, shaping the band’s distinctive and eclectic musical style.

Who else felt transported to the islands while watching the incredible performance by the London School of Hula and ‘Ori (LSHO) ?🌺🌴✨

Their beautiful performance showcased a variety of traditional Hawaiian hula and energetic Tahitian ‘ōte’a dances, brought to life through vibrant costumes, expressive storytelling, captivating rhythms, and graceful movement.
It was a wonderful celebration of Polynesian culture that delighted the audience and added something truly special to this year’s Mint Street Music Festival.

Great entertainment for the children from Henri Gaobi & Kaogo, whose mesmerising African drumming beneath the trees created such a joyful atmosphere. 🥁

The rhythm was infectious, with children dancing, laughing, and even parents joining in with their little ones for a dance. It was wonderful to see families coming together to enjoy such a special moment.
