⚽ The FIFA World Cup 2026 starts today!

As the world comes together to celebrate football's biggest tournament, millions of fans will be cheering for their teams, dreaming of victory, and believing that anything is possible.

For people living with blood cancer and blood disorders, hope comes in a different form – finding a matching stem cell donor.

Right now, patients across the UK are waiting for that lifesaving match. Just as every player can make a difference on the pitch, every new person who joins the stem cell register increases the chances of someone finding the donor they desperately need.

Race Against Blood Cancer is encouraging football fans to be part of a team that changes lives. If you're aged 16–55 and in general good health, joining the UK stem cell register takes just a few minutes and could one day save a life.

This World Cup, while you're backing your favourite team, take a moment to do something extraordinary.

Join the stem cell register and help us score a winning goal against blood cancer. - www.raceagainstbloodcancer.com ❤️

A huge thank you to Ricoh in Telford for inviting us along to your Wellbeing Events last week. 👏🏻

It was fantastic to meet so many employees and have such positive engagement throughout the events. We were delighted by the level of interest shown in stem cell donation, and especially encouraged to see so many people from diverse backgrounds signing up to join the stem cell donor register.

Every new donor has the potential to give someone with blood cancer or a blood disorder a second chance at life, and your support is helping us make a real difference.

If your organisation would like to support our Workplace Warriors campaign and help us find more lifesaving stem cell donors, we'd love to hear from you. Together, we can raise awareness, inspire action, and potentially save lives.

💛 What a fantastic afternoon at the patient, family and friends support group at Wolverhampton New Cross Hospital.

It was wonderful to meet so many amazing people and see so much support, encouragement and friendship in one room. We also made some great connections with other organisations, and we’re excited to collaborate with them to help get even more people onto the stem cell donor register.

Thank you to Andrea and team who hosted to make the event such a success. Together, we are stronger. 💛🌻

Meet Courtney, one of our incredible volunteers from Telford! 💙

Discover what volunteering with Race Against Blood Cancer means to her. 👇

“I chose to volunteer for Race Against Blood Cancer in 2018 when I met Gemma through my workplace. I saw how much dedication, time, and effort went into such an amazing charity, and I wanted to be involved.

I have really enjoyed my time helping to find matches and seeing those matches make such a positive difference for families.

I have watched Gemma grow from a volunteer into a much-loved manager at Race Against Blood Cancer, and I am very grateful for everything she has taught me ❤️

Thank you to Race Against Blood Cancer for encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone, become more confident, and, most importantly, listen to people’s stories “ 🥰

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re celebrating some of the brilliant people who give their time to support Race Against Blood Cancer.

Sophie Robinson has been a volunteer since 2018

“I love knowing that I have been part of trying to make a positive difference for
those living with blood cancer. Not only is it making an impact on others lives but it
also has given me more confidence in social situations.”

I have met the most incredible people at events hearing about their battles with
blood cancer and how they have beat it because of volunteers like myself signing
people up to the stem cell register. This gives them hope and a chance of living
their life to the fullest. I'm very proud to be a part of this wonderful charity.”

Thank you, Sophie, for being part of our work to raise awareness, encourage more people to join the stem cell register and help tackle donor inequality.

This Volunteers’ Week, we want to say a huge thank you to every volunteer who supports Race Against Blood Cancer. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Because of our volunteers, we can reach more communities, hold more donor drives, have more conversations and encourage more people to join the stem cell register.

Every conversation matters. Every swab matters. Every volunteer helps us move closer to a future where every patient has the best possible chance of finding a matching donor.

Thank you for giving your time, energy and passion to this work.

Race Against Blood Cancer will be at RICOH in Telford on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd June for their employee wellbeing events. 💙

During the event, we’ll be raising awareness of blood cancer and giving employees the opportunity to join the stem cell register — something that could one day help save a life.

RICOH are joining our Workplace Warriors campaign, helping us bring lifesaving conversations directly into the workplace, and we’re incredibly excited to be working with them.

The reality is, somebody within your workforce could already be a stem cell match for a person desperately searching for one — they just don’t know it yet.

That’s why workplace partnerships like this matter so much.

If your business would like to get involved and be part of something truly life-changing, we’d love to hear from you.
