Popped in Rowans Hospice this morning to hand off £2690 raised at last year’s Covers Party. Love a big cheque!

Last year’s party was dedicated to Steve Such who spent time at the Hospice.

Where else could you get to hear live music ranging from industrial metal to pop bangers of various vintages, punk both old and new(ish), grunge, techno and various other stops en route in the space of a couple of hours?

As the dust settles on the 15th Annual Christmas Covers Party I’m really proud to announce (another!) record breaking total raised for Rowans Hospice and MusicFusion namely £ 5379

Looking back on previous years it’s really amazing to see how the party as grown from a pub shindig to a fully fledged regular event at the city’s premier music venue, The Wedgewood Rooms. Watching how the money raised for the charities has increased year on year is staggering. A real testament to the people that grab a ticket, got involved in the raffle and prepared and played on the night.

We’d like to thank all of the bands involved: Box Office Flops, Milkin It, The SLM, Smells Like Animal Nitrate (Shout out to Boggy), Halliwell, 228.6mm Nails, Glorious Bulletheads, Bosh Jovi, Waif and Stray and Instigators.

This whole event isn’t possible without some key characters, so here are the flowers for some special folk that made it tick…

Emma - Pulling the raffle together
Leah and Beth - Taking all that raffle cash
Bendy - Stage managing the life out of that stage
Mr Priestley - For hosting and looking after us
Mr Heath - Polishing sound into a fine art
Dinga - The voice of the people
