Fermor Lodge 1313 Represents Southport Group at Historic London Gathering

On a day where the weather matched the warmth of the fraternity, three brethren from Fermor Lodge No. 1313 traveled to Great Queen Street to represent the Southport Group at the highly anticipated Light Blues Communication

Held at the iconic Freemasons’ Hall, W.Bro Vic Foulds, Bro Neil Walsh, and Bro Callum Clark joined over 1,200 Masons from across the country and overseas for a spectacular celebration of the Craft's future.

The atmosphere inside the Grand Temple was electric. In a powerful demonstration of modern Freemasonry’s inclusivity and broad appeal, the meeting welcomed special delegations from the Grand Lodge of Scotland and Women’s Freemasonry.

Led by the Pro Grand Master, Jonathan Spence, and his grand officers, the meeting was impeccably hosted by Lodge Sine Nomine No. 10000.

The highlights of the communication included:

Inspiring presentations from newer initiates and members detailing their paths through the Craft.

Deep dives into how Freemasonry continues to support incredible causes, featuring a special spotlight on the fantastic work of the Masonic Fishing Charity.

Following the closing of the lodge, the brethren cooled down from the summer heat with a refreshing, afternoon tea-style lunch—complemented, naturally, by a cheeky pint.

The excitement didn't end at the festive board. Refueled and eager for more, Brothers Walsh and Clark headed back into the majestic Grand Temple. There, they secured seats to watch a live recording of the immensely popular Craftcast podcast, getting a behind-the-scenes look at the voices shaping modern Masonic conversation.

For Brothers Walsh and Clark, this trip marked their very first time stepping inside the headquarters of the United Grand Lodge of England marvelling at the stunning Art Deco architecture and the sheer scale of the event, both agreed on one thing, it certainly won’t be their last.

Fermor Lodge 1313 continues to stand tall, ensuring that the Southport Group's light shines brightly on the national stage!

A Lodge of Pride: Celebrating Service and Succession

The past weekend saw a magnificent gathering at the West Lancashire Provincial Grand Lodge in Blackpool, where thousands of brethren joined together in the true spirit of harmony and fellowship.

While the occasion was a grand display of our Provincial strength, it held a very special significance for Fermor Lodge and the Southport Group. We are incredibly proud to celebrate two of our distinguished members as they reach new milestones in their Masonic journeys:

W. Bro Brian Griffiths officially stepped down as the Southport Group Vice Chairman. Brian has given many years of tireless, dedicated service to the craft and the Southport community. His leadership and wisdom have been a cornerstone of our group’s success, and we owe him a great debt of gratitude for his commitment.

Stepping into the role of Vice Chairman is W. Bro Richard Jenkinson. Having previously served with distinction as the Southport Group Secretary, Richard brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of our Masonic family to his new position.

Both Brian and Richard are esteemed members of Fermor Lodge. Their appointments are a testament to the caliber of Masons within our lodge and the enduring strength of our local Masonic community.

Congratulations to both W. Bro Brian Griffiths and W. Bro Richard Jenkinson! We wish Brian a well-deserved change of pace and Richard every success in his new provincial responsibilities.

A Sublime Evening at Southport: Brother Callum Clark Raised to Master Mason
SOUTHPORT on Wednesday 6th May

The atmosphere at the Southport Masonic Hall was one of profound solemnity and fraternal joy recently, as the brethren gathered for a special meeting to witness a significant milestone in the Masonic journey of one of their own.

Brother Callum Clark, already well-regarded as an active and dedicated member of the Lodge, was finally raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason.

The evening commenced with the reading of a special dispensation, after which the Lodge was duly opened by the Worshipful Master, Damon Noone Jr. After the Lodge was expertly navigated through the various degrees, the WM requested W.Bro Brian Griffiths to occupy the Chair of King Solomon to assist with the initial portion of this important ceremony.

Brother Clark, having prepared himself for this pivotal moment, was subjected to the necessary examination. He moved with confidence as he was conducted around the Lodge, perfectly demonstrating the signs and tokens of the degrees he had previously attained.

The ritual reached its spiritual peak during the solemn obligation. Upon its completion, Brother Clark rose no longer as a craftsman, but as a duly obligated Master Mason.
Following a brief interval, the ceremony was placed into the capable hands of W.Bro Chris Latham. With great skill and precision, W.Bro Latham delivered the concluding portion of the ritual, which included a comprehensive and moving explanation of the Working Tools of the degree—reminding all present of the symbolic architecture of a moral life.

Upon the conclusion of the ceremony, WM Damon Noone Jr. resumed the Chair. Before the Lodge was closed in the traditional spirit of peace and harmony, a collection was taken, further reinforcing the charitable tenets of the Craft.

The brethren of the Lodge are confident that Brother Clark will find great fulfillment in his new rank. As a Master Mason, the doors to the wider world of Freemasonry are now open to him. We wish him well in his future travels to sister Lodges and, most notably, on his upcoming trip to London in a few weeks for the Light Blues Communication.

Congratulations, Brother Clark
