Tonight, at 7pm, we light a candle đź’ś

Across the world, families will take part in the Wave of Light, lighting a candle in memory of the babies who are loved, missed and never forgotten.

Every light represents a little life that mattered. A baby who will always be part of someone’s story. A love that doesn’t disappear.

Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, whether you speak about your baby every day or carry your grief quietly, we remember them with you.

At CRADLE, we know that baby loss can feel incredibly lonely. Tonight is a reminder that you are not alone, and that there is space for every story, every loss and every feeling.

🕯️ Light a candle at 7pm and let it shine for the babies who will never be forgotten.

If you feel comfortable, share your light with us in the comments. We’re holding space for you and your little ones tonight.

A little moment of visibility for a cause that matters so muchđź’ś

We’re delighted that David Styles, Matron at Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and his patient Sam appeared on this evening to share their story and talk about the work happening to improve services for patients.

Stories like this are exactly why we do what we do. Raising awareness, amplifying voices and making sure the people and organisations doing important work get the visibility they deserve.

Thank you to everyone helping us get these conversations out there. Every mention, share and new person reached really does make a difference.

đź’› This Baby Loss Awareness Week, could you help Cradle be there for someone who needs us?

Behind every Comfort Bag, every support session and every resource we provide is a community of people who make it possible.

Your donation helps us continue providing practical support and compassionate resources for people affected by pregnancy loss, at a time when life can feel incredibly difficult.

Whether it’s a one off donation, a regular contribution or fundraising in your workplace or community, every bit of support helps us continue this work.

We know that Baby Loss Awareness Week can mean different things to different people. If you’re marking the week in memory of someone, supporting someone you love, or simply learning more about pregnancy loss, thank you for being part of a more compassionate conversation💛

If you’re able to support Cradle, we’d be so grateful.

💛 Donate today and help us make sure support is there when it’s needed. Visit the link in our bio or feel free to drop us a message if you have any questions.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. đź’›

For some people, that will mean seeing pregnancy loss talked about more openly than usual. For others, it might be a month they'd rather quietly get through. Both are okay.

At Cradle, awareness isn't just about talking more. It's about making sure that when someone needs support, they can actually find it. That might be a Comfort Bag in hospital. It might be finding Cradle months later and realising there is somewhere to turn. It might be hearing someone else's story and feeling a little less isolated. That's the bit that matters to us. So throughout October, we'll be talking about pregnancy loss, sharing the work we're doing and introducing something we've been working on behind the scenes for quite a while đź’›

October is here, which means it's nearly time to press record🎙️💛

We've been talking about the Cradle Podcast for a while now.
Soon, you'll actually be able to listen in on our conversations. The podcast will bring together honest conversations around pregnancy loss - personal experiences, professional perspectives and stories from people who have something important to share.
Some conversations will be difficult, some might make you think, some might make you feel seen and some might simply help you understand an experience that isn't your own.

We're not expecting every episode to resonate with every person. That's the point. Pregnancy loss isn't one experience, and there isn't one story that can speak for everyone. So we're making room for different voices.

A donation to Cradle doesn't just help us do more. It helps us put support into places where it is needed.

It can help provide Comfort Bags in hospitals, help us create resources for people affected by pregnancy loss, help make peer support available and keep spaces like Connected and our Community Forum going.

Every donations supports us in continuing to work towards a world where nobody affected by pregnancy loss has to feel completely alone with what they're experiencing.

So whether you've donated, fundraised, donated toiletries, shared our work, volunteered or simply told someone about Cradle, thank you đź’›

Going back to work doesn't mean you're “over it”.
There can be a strange expectation after pregnancy loss that once you've had the immediate time away, you should simply pick up where you left off. But grief doesn't work to a calendar.

You might be ready to get back into a routine.
You might find work gives you something else to focus on.
You might struggle to concentrate.
You might want people to ask how you are.
You might really, really not want to talk about it.
There isn't a correct way to return to work after pregnancy loss.

What can make a difference is having an employer who understands that someone can be back at their desk and still be grieving ❤️‍🩹

Was there anything or anyone who especially supported your return to work?
