Fancy getting creative with us this half term? 🍁

Join Art Ease CIC for a relaxed, welcoming Autumn Garlands workshop where we’ll come together to make beautiful handmade decorations using affordable and recycled materials. 🎨🍂

It’s a lovely opportunity to slow down, try something creative, spend time together and enjoy a little autumn crafting in a friendly, no-pressure environment.

Week one of Mindful Mark-Making!

What a lovely morning we had with the wonderful local artist Claire Aldridge Pinxi Designs: Bespoke Art for Well-being (Claire Aldridge) .

The session was all about slowing down, switching off and exploring creativity through nature-inspired drawing and mark-making. There’s growing evidence around the benefits of spending time in nature and engaging in creative activities for mood and wellbeing, and it was lovely to see that in action.

There was lots of quiet concentration, but also plenty of chatting, new connections, experimenting with different materials and people trying something completely new.

Join local artist Claire Aldridge at The Big Onion in Southport for three relaxed, creative mornings exploring mark-making, nature, texture and mixed media. There’s no pressure to create a perfect picture, just space to slow down, experiment and enjoy being creative. 💚

NO CLIQUES. JUST CREATIVES.

We’re building something new for Southport’s creative community, and we’d love more local people to get involved.

Southport Creatives is a friendly, informal community for anyone interested in the creative scene in Southport. Artists, illustrators, photographers, designers, makers, musicians, creative businesses, students, hobbyists and anyone else who considers themselves creative are all welcome.

You don’t need to know anyone already, and you don’t need to be a professional. We’re genuinely hoping to create a space where people can meet others, share ideas, discover opportunities, support local work and hopefully make some new connections along the way.

We’ve had some brilliant meet-ups so far, and we’re really keen to keep growing the community and making sure there’s a space for creatives to have their say about what happens next in Southport.

We had such a lovely time yesterday in the first session of our new Mindful Drawing group! This is a free 8 week course in collaboration with Sefton Social Prescribing and Brighter Living and is such a relaxing way to switch off from the noise of the world and reconnect with yourself, nature and your community.

Thank you so much to our new cohort for coming along and giving it a go - what a fantastic group who all got stuck in and had a go at drawing our autumn trees to celebrate the equinox - with falling leaves representing what we want to let go of, the trunks representing what we would like to stay, and buds, fruit and flowers depicting what we’d like to make more room for this season. It was such a lovely and reflective afternoon and we can’t wait for the next one!

Community Meadow: A Collaborative Art Workshop 🎨

Join artist Sarah Bryden for a relaxed, nature-inspired creative workshop exploring flowers, plants and wildlife through drawing, painting and mixed media.

You’ll create your own botanical-inspired piece, which will then become part of a beautiful collaborative community meadow 🌸
