Does anyone know which Pub Co. currently owns The George?

I've just spoken to our planning consultant who advised me that we would not be successful in objecting to the plans to demolish the Blundell at next week's council meeting. The council have accepted the viability study that was submitted by developers. I've emailed the council to let them know and will be refunding any share capital, football card money and grants that we have received. Thanks for all your help. It's nothing we did. The fire simply took its toll.

Please show your support by emailing Sefton Planning Committee at [email protected] to object to DC/2018/02240 on the grounds that it would result in the loss of a non-designated heritage asset and a valuable, viable and accessible community hub. The last of its size and type in this neighbourhood.

We can rebuild it.

The pub was left neglected after it ceased trading in 2016 and was engulfed by a fire in June this year

Driving down Upper Aughton Road away from town and heading in to Birkdale. The Blundell Arms is an iconic landmark. As much of a welcome home to Birkdale residents as the old gas tower was to High Parkers and “The Pies” graffiti on the M57 is to anyone landing at JLA and driving back to Southport
