Southport Soup Kitchen

Southport Soup Kitchen Based in central Southport "The Soup Kitchen" provides hot meals and support for those in need in the local area.

In hard times, don't suffer in silence, we are here to help and support when you need us. The Southport Soup kitchen is a not for profit charitable organisation who’s goal is to offer help to ALL members of our community, our undertaking is to create a safe place to support vulnerable people with an open door policy. Our MISSION is simple: To feed and support those in need regardless of their circ

umstances, through providing hot food, emotional support, basic provisions and assistance to become self sufficient. We provide free nutritious meals to all that visit and are committed to improving the quality of life and restoring the dignity of those we help. The Soup kitchen has been operating in Southport for over 20 years. Prior to us having premises the food would be served from one of the Victorian Shelters on the promenade. In 2002 one of the founders Justin Dempster helped establish the Soup Kitchen as we know it today, his vision to support those in need without judgement is still followed today. The Soup Kitchen is currently open for takeaways only on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday
from 1pm to 2pm.

We’d like to say a ginormous Soupie THANK YOU to wonderful Sue Astwood who recently organised a quiz at Southport RFC in aid of Southport Soup Kitchen. It was a fantastic evening that raised over £520 for our charity.

A huge thank you to everyone that took part - the amount raised will be a massive help to us as we start planning our winter provision.

As Volunteers' Week draws to a close, we would like to say a great, big, huge, ginormous Soupie THANK YOU to all of our volunteers, past and present. From Stewmakers to servers, storeroom crew, family supporters, speakers, directors, trustees and everything in between - every single member of our team is valued and so appreciated.

We are all volunteers at Southport Soup Kitchen and we couldn’t do what we do, without the wonderful people that give up their time to help people in need. Thank you all so much.

Our small charity exists to support anyone in need of hot food and emergency food provision. It doesn’t matter if we are needed for a week or a repeatedly over years - no one is ever turned away. Everyone at Southport Soup Kitchen is a volunteer - with no staff wages, this means that every penny donated goes to the individuals and families that need it the most. Thank you all so much for helping us to continue helping vulnerable people in our community.

This week we were delighted to meet Rose and Aubrey, two wonderfully kind children who won a giant Lindt bunny for Easter. They decided that it was far too big to eat, then had the genius idea to melt it down to make cakes for Southport Soup Kitchen. The result was this amazing batch of cakes which our guests loved!

It’s always special when children think of others and we’d like to say a big, huge and ginormous Soupie 💐THANK YOU💐 to Rose and Aubrey for their kindness and generosity. You should be so proud of yourself and the difference that you have made this week. We think you are amazing!
