On Wednesday evening it was our Annual Cub 'Indoor' Competition which this year involved the Cubs being tested on Fun & Scout skills. Each Pack entered a team of 6 cubs and individual Cubs were called out to compete against the other teams in various tasks ranging from hopping on one leg for the longest time to tying a reef knot in the quickest time. Congratulations go to the 58th Cub Pack who won overall! 🙂

Recently Princess Anne visited Waterside Lodge in her role as Patron of the Sea Cadets when they held their Regatta there. We had a team that got together in the weeks before to make our District Headquarters look as good as it could in time for her visit. They worked really hard painting the exterior and interior of the building and redesigning our Noticeboards. Many thanks to Dave, Kim, Ian, Lynne, Jimmy and Zoe for all your efforts! 🙂

One of the Beavers at the 9th Formby Colony has earned every single Activity badge he can in that age Group. This comes 3 months after earning his Chief Scout Bronze award. Well done Henry on such an amazing achievement. 🙂

Yesterday we had our District Birthday Bash to celebrate Squirrels turning 5 years old, Beavers 40 and Cubs 110. Over 330 Young People from Sefton North enjoyed lots of land and water based activities throughout the day ending with us singing Happy Birthday around a large cake and then everyone taking home specially made cupcakes. Everyone looked to have a really good time despite the challenges from the weather. Many thanks to everyone that came along and helped on the day and to those that worked hard in the run up to make it the success it was. 🙂

Today is Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year and the end of the Ten Days of Repentance. Observing adults fast from food and drink and seek forgiveness from God. We wish everyone marking the occasion 'g’mar chatima tovah' and a meaningful fast.
