Are you struggling with the rising cost of living? If you live in Ainsdale/Woodvale we are open every Wednesday from 11am to 12 noon in the hall at St John Stone Catholic church.

We are a local non-profit food market, run entirely by volunteers. We offer canned food and fresh fruit and vegetables. We charge a very small fee to cover the cost of the food we buy in. You can take away food worth around £20-£30.

We are not a foodbank.

When you arrive you can wait in a waiting room. We operate a queueing system which will be explained to you. Don’t be nervous about something new. When you arrive, go into the hall where a volunteer will be available to help you and explain the procedures. There is a car park available.

It would be appreciated if you would indicate whether you intend to come along next Wednesday, so that we can cater for all who attend.

Refreshments are available. (Tea or coffee and a cake or biscuits subject to availability.) The charge for this is 40p.

Yet again, a big “ thank you” goes to Adele Dennis at Tesco for a recent donation to our market. Your support is very much appreciated.

We had a visit from the lovely children and staff members from Kings Meadow School who donated the food from their Harvest Festival to our food market. As you can see the donation was a large one and will be of great help to our market customers. Pictured are the children and the market volunteers.

A special mention goes to one young man who we can’t name unfortunately, who donated some of his pocket money to our cause. What a lovely thought, and very welcome.

Thank you all once again.
