We’re all excited to see how the revamped former BHS / Broadbents building in Southport town centre will look when work is finished!
This is one of Southport town centre’s real landmark buildings, which has enjoyed a rich and celebrated history as a department store over many years. This Victorian ea building was built in 1871.
Soon it will become home to dozens of families moving in, as well as businesses on the ground floor.
The completed project will give Chapel Street a new lease of life, complementing this year’s revamp of the Southport Train Station Approach.
It’s also been good to see new businesses on Chapel Street such as Greggs and Coffee House with B&M opening early December.
The scheme is being driven by new owners APG Capital, which purchased the development from previous owners JSM Group.
Planning permission was granted by Sefton Council in 2022 to convert the upper floors (first, second, third and fourth floors) into 30 new self-contained apartments.
It’s been good to see so much progress being made in recent weeks - excited to see the new look once all the scaffolding comes down!
Should prove to be a great catalyst for more investment to come
