With the permanent venue we are developing a range of sessions to cater for the ever growing needs of local families. Our Friday drop in sessions has developed into a term time weekly adult support sessions for parents and carers. We continue to offer a safe place for parents and carers to chat with other likewise people in a non-judgemental environment. The term time weekly preschool sessions enables parents/ carers to attend with their children, however likewise for all sessions going forward we do require people to book into sessions if child based so we can limit numbers. Other regular sessions include Dad's Club, Girl's Club, Youth Club, Home Ed Sessions, After School Club and Evening Parent/ Carer Creative sessions. These will be slowly introduced after the lockdown due to covid 19, these may take time to reach full potential as these need to be developed and maintained to a certain level before we can proceed to the next step. We are currently working as a small charity raising funds to provide activity sessions for the families we support during the school holidays and at festive periods. The group was originally set up by Helen Smith-Vicary, ASD Specialist Portage Home Visitor and Kim Drake who's son Alfie was diagnosed with autism back in 2011 when he was just 3 years old. Little Heroes ASD Support Group began as a coffee morning at a local children's centre early October 2012. Alternatively check out the website www.littleheroesasd.co.uk or email [email protected]. Sometimes we get so caught up in the thick and fast lane of life that we forget to stop and recognise the difference we’re making within our local community.

Between busy work schedules and navigating emotional transitions within our families, it’s easy to keep pushing forward without taking a moment to reflect. That’s why being invited to the Benefact Group’s Service of Celebration at St Paul’s Cathedral in London came as such a surprise—and what an incredible honour it was.

More than anything, it was a reminder that we all need to slow down sometimes. To take time out. To allow ourselves the space to prepare and care for ourselves, just as much as we do for others.

Standing in such a beautiful and historic place gave us the opportunity to look around, take it all in, and reflect on the work that so many people do every day to support others. It was a reality check in the best possible way—a chance to see the impact that can be made when communities come together with a shared purpose.

The work we do may not always feel significant in the moment, but events like this remind us that every act of kindness, every conversation, every project and every effort contributes to meaningful change.

Never say never. Together, we can make a difference. ❤️💛💙

Flourish & Bloom X Flourish and Bloom
Little Heroes ASD Support Group 🐝☀️💐 Thank you to everyone who joined us for a morning of creativity, connection, and mindfulness. It was incredible to see so many beautiful arrangements come to life and to watch participants take time to slow down, focus on the present moment, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of working with flowers.

From learning new skills to sharing conversations and creating something unique to take home, the workshop was a reminder of how powerful creative activities can be for our wellbeing. 💐💛

A huge thank you to Flourish and Bloom for leading such an inspiring session and to everyone who attended and made it so special.

Here’s a look back at some of our favourite moments from the day. 🌿✨

Children don’t need “fixing”.
They need understanding.

And some parents aren’t “overprotective” or “difficult” they’re simply standing between their child and a world that still judges what it doesn’t understand.

Behind every SEND parent is exhaustion nobody sees, battles nobody hears, and love that never stops fighting.
