Do you receive Universal Credit?
You will need to update the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) about changes to your rent and service charge through your online journal.
Important: Please do not update your housing costs until you are prompted to do so. You should wait until you see “Confirm your housing costs” in your online journal before updating your details. Updating it earlier can cause issues with your claim.
If you need help, our trained staff can support you with:

Looking to Move? Mutual Exchange Could Be Your Solution!
🏠If you’re dreaming of a fresh start in a new location, mutual exchange might be the perfect solution.🏠 Here's why and how it works:
What is Mutual Exchange?
This is where you can swap homes with another social housing tenant, choosing your preferred area across the UK—giving you the flexibility to decide where and when you move. Plus, it doesn’t have to be a one-to-one swap; sometimes multiple households coordinate moves in a chain to make it happen!
Why Consider Mutual Exchange?
• Faster Process: Often, it's the quickest way to relocate.
• Your Choice: You have full control over your options and can decide what works best for you.
• Flexible Timing: You choose the timing that’s right for your move.
How to Get Started:
1. Check Your Eligibility - Your tenancy agreement will tell you if you have the Right to Exchange. Not sure? Reach out to us for help!
2. Register for Free - Eligible Estuary tenants can sign up on Homeswapper or House Exchange platforms.
3. Complete the Application - Once you’ve found your match, complete the application with our team to get everything moving.
Tips for Success:
• Register on Homeswapper or House Exchange with plenty of details and photos.
• Plan for moving expenses and be ready to answer questions about your current home.
• Keep your rent up-to-date, and handle any needed repairs before moving day.
If you're ready to make a change, let us help guide you through the process. Visit our Mutual Exchange page for more details:

What is Tenancy Fraud?

Tenancy fraud happens when someone uses the system to gain access to social housing they’re not entitled to, often leaving those who really need it waiting longer. It can take many forms, such as:
• Subletting the property without permission

• Providing false information to get a home

• Abandoning the property while continuing to claim tenancy

• Illegal succession of tenancy without following the right process
This type of fraud doesn’t just break the rules – it prevents those in genuine need from accessing affordable housing.
If you suspect tenancy fraud or have any concerns, help us keep housing fair for everyone. Contact us confidentially at 0300 304 5000 or email [email protected].
