WI Southend Sisters

WI Southend Sisters Woman’s institute. Main meeting 3rd Wednesday of every month except December.

05/04/2026

Our April meeting looks to be a fun and busy one. We will be welcoming Sandra from Colourworx. Sandra is a Colour and Style coach and will be talking to us about ‘The Power of Colour’ - how colours affect how we look and feel.

And of course, during the evening we look forward seeing those Easter/Spring bonnets ladies. So, if you fancy a little post Easter fun get out your glue, scissors, needles or whatever you have laying about and get creative. Anything goes! There’s an Easter Egg prize for the winning bonnet

We are open for new members please come along.

Our first meeting of the year was a lovely one, with a great turnout.
George from St John Ambulance joined us to talk and demonstrate life-saving skills, and his session was both interesting and informative.
Thank you to everyone who contributed food donations to the One Love Project.

Happy New year!

Our first meeting of the year will be Wednesday the 21st January 2026.

As members are aware, this year’s WI Resolution is ‘Bystanders can be Lifesavers’ and so with this in mind we will be hosting St John Ambulance. This amazing charity have kindly agreed to demonstrate and discuss essential lifesaving skills with us. This is a great opportunity for us all to become more first aid confident.

Wi******er Cathedral and Christmas market trip.
After a very long start due to traffic. Was lovely to see the Cathedral. The Christmas market was pleasant, but lacked a Christmas atmosphere. The mulled cider was yummy.
Still a very nice day.

Our last Meeting of 2025 will take place on Wednesday 19th November. We will be holding a Christmas crafting evening, accompanied by seasonal refreshments of mulled wine (a non-alcoholic option will be available) and mince pies.
During the meeting members will be able to make a variety of lovely Christmas crafts to take home. A big thank you to those wonderful Southend Sisters who have offered their help during this meeting.
If crafting is not for you, please still come along and join us for a drink, mince pie and a chat.
