Let us introduce you to ours.

Brazilarte Academy is in the heart of Southend on Sea, situated on the first floor of the Victoria Centre.

Our space has worn many hats.

It's hosted festivals, exhibitions, open mic nights, dance workshops, creative workshops, women's circles, parties, movement classes, corporate team-building events, live music, film crews, meetings and countless social gatherings.

For children and adults alike.

At its heart, Brazilarte Academy is an empty box, waiting for the next story to unfold.

One thing never changes: 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲.

To bring people together.
To share skills, stories and creative connection.

It always has been.
It always will be.

Belonging is something we build together.

Through movement.
Through music.
Through creativity.

Through shared experiences.
Through showing up.
Through laughter, rhythm and connection.

Strangers become friends.
Friends become family.

WHAT MUSIC TEACHES US

After a recent performance at a street festival in Southend, one of our band members turned to me and said:
“That was the best one yet. It felt easy.”

Easy.
I smiled, thinking about all the years it had taken to get there.

The rehearsals.
The missed beats.
The listening.
The learning how to trust one another.

Moments of flow appear to arrive naturally.
But ease is built.

One beat at a time.
One rehearsal at a time.
One gathering at a time.

Turning up, time and time again.
Devotion.
Commitment.
Attention.
Intention.

Music has taught me that communication goes beyond words.

It crosses age.
Gender.
Background.
Language.

A rhythm starts and we tune into some thing ancient.

Perhaps that’s why music feels so universal.
At its heart, it reminds us that we are designed for connection.

Different voices.
Different instruments.
One shared pulse.

We are looking forward to support festival this Sunday in Southend on Sea.

We’re opening the event.
So arrive early!
We also have a stall, so come and say hi, tap a drum and support our organisation.

Why are we supporting Hamlet Court Road In Harmony event?
It’s local and community focused.
It’s run by a team of passionate volunteers.

These small events are important.
There are no barriers for everyone to get involved.
They are family friendly.
They take back a sense of place for the people.
And street parties are the best!

We can’t wait to see you there.
You never know… you might be inspired to join the band 🤩

The Brazilarte Band blends Samba, Samba Reggae and Maracatu rhythms to create vibrant, unforgettable experiences for festivals, events and gatherings of all kinds.

This is music you feel in your chest.
Energy that spreads through a crowd.
A reminder that joy is contagious.
