Sometimes, showing someone they matter starts with something simple.

Our Amber and Street Light outreach teams support some of the most vulnerable people in Southampton, offering practical help, compassion and hope.

We've created two Amazon Wish Lists featuring items our teams particularly need right now.

How does it work?

It's just like a wedding gift list. Simply choose an item from one of our Amazon Wish Lists and purchase it. At checkout, select "Elle Pitt" as the delivery address, and your gift will be sent directly to our outreach teams.

As a project most of the people we support have been through difficult times. We'd love your help for one person we've been supporting with some counselling as she seeks to process her traumatic past which includes being separated from family, isolation, abuse and trafficking.

If you're able to help you can donate through Acts435 towards this.

Sue writes - as I come to the end of my time with Amber, I’ve been reflecting on what an incredible journey it has been. There have certainly been challenges along the way, but they have been far outweighed by the privilege of working alongside such a dedicated team and by knowing that together we’ve made a real difference in the lives of women in our city. I have witnessed the incredible resilience of the women we support and the appreciation they have for what we do. Every woman deserves to feel valued, supported, and loved, and I have seen that there is hope and that change is possible. Amber is in excellent hands. I know God will continue to bless and guide the team and that they will continue to serve with compassion and commitment ensuring that women continue to feel noticed.

Hello to Sarah, the new Chaplain Outreach Worker for Amber (and Street Light). Sarah has worked as an occupational therapist for nearly 25 years across a range of settings, has a passion about supporting people who are on the margins and those who are most vulnerable. Sarah writes - I’m excited to work alongside the women we meet on the streets, showing them that they are seen, valued, loved, and cared for.
I’m also enjoying getting to know the Amber team, as well as the wider team, and building strong relationships as we work together.

A great opportunity for someone to make a positive difference in the lives of those who find themselves homeless in Southampton!

We're recruiting again as we look to expand the Street Light Chaplain & Outreach team. We have two part time roles available!

Applications are open until midday on Friday 31 July.

This isn’t a desk-based role. It’s about getting out there and journeying alongside people through difficult seasons, helping connect them to support, safety and hope.

You’ll be working across Southampton with people sleeping rough and alongside local partners to help make a real difference in people’s lives. ❤️
