It is a pleasure to be part such an amazing team, who work selflessly throughout the year to raise funds so that the RBL can provide vital services to the Armed Forces Community. We’re incredibly proud that our fantastic colleague and Dorset Poppy Appeal Manager, Tasha, is taking on the London Marathon next year! 🏃‍♀️🌟

As she begins her marathon journey, we’d love for you to show your support and follow along every step of the way. We know she’ll do an amazing job representing the Royal British Legion and taking on this huge challenge.

As the Poppy Appeal Manager for Dorset, I’m incredibly proud to share that alongside the fundraising work we already do across the county, I’ll also be taking on the London Marathon 2027 in support of the Royal British Legion 🏃‍♂️🇬🇧

Over the next year I’ll be training and fundraising to help support the amazing work RBL does for serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans, and their families.

🇬🇧We are delighted to invite you to book your free tickets now for our Armed Forces Day National Event weekend on Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June.🇬🇧

This prestigious national event will bring the communities of Aldershot and Farnborough together with the military community in celebration and appreciation, through fantastic free activities, sports and entertainment. It is a chance for us all to thank our Armed Forces for the vital role they play in protecting the nation.

A full line up will be announced soon, with the Armed Forces Day National Event on Saturday 27 June featuring a military parade, Arena displays, music and entertainment, and a Community Day on Sunday 28 June, featuring activities, entertainment, sporting trials and live music.

Service personnel from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, and Royal Air Force will be showcasing the diverse mix of roles in the Armed Forces, demonstrating equipment, and highlighting their contribution to national security. Visitors will be able to meet serving personnel, reservists, veterans, cadets, and military families during the weekend, which will include live military bands, parades and flypasts.

The programme of activities will also look to the future by inspiring young people through displays, activities, sports, and family events.

What a fantastic day 10K run at MOD Lyneham! 🇬🇧

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to run, walk or cycle behind the wire, with army vehicles on display around the route — an incredible experience for everyone involved.

🏃‍♂️ Lifting the Decks 10K – Supporting the Royal British Legion

This May, Oliver Lane is taking on the Lifting the Decks - Challenge Series 10km run at MOD Lyneham to raise funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Inspired by family and friends who have served in the UK Armed Forces — and by the incredible support the RBL provides to serving personnel, veterans and their families — Oliver is proud to be fundraising for the charity.

Oliver also leads the social value proposition at defence contractor Scott Aerospace, where he has championed support for the Poppy Appeal, rallying colleagues to volunteer and sell poppies during Remembrance 2025. After hearing powerful personal stories from veterans at a volunteer thank you event earlier this year, Oliver was inspired to do even more.
