We are so excited to share that our Children’s Mayor, Laramie Guzman Aldana, will be joining us on 27 October 2026.

Our session and activities will support the Children’s Mayor’s inspiring project, “Board Games, Books and Biscuits,” which aims to bring children and older adults together, reduce loneliness and encourage meaningful connections away from screens.

At Cross-Culture Hub CIC, we believe that bringing generations together helps build a stronger, more connected and caring community. Through shared activities, we create opportunities for young people and older adults to learn from each other, share stories, exchange skills and make lasting memories.

Cross-Culture Hub CIC is delighted to announce the return of our Intergenerational Skill Sharing Sewing Sessions for children and young people aged 10–17 during the October school half-term.
Following the wonderful success of our sessions with schoolchildren in August, we are excited to bring generations together once again to share skills, creativity, friendship and fun.

WHEN & WHERE: 27th, 28th and 29th October from 10am -12noon at YMCA, Graham Road, Southampton, SO14 0AW.

Our young participants enjoyed learning sewing skills, exploring their creativity and discovering the value of making things by hand. But the sessions were about much more than sewing. They encouraged patience, problem-solving, confidence, teamwork, sustainability and learning from one another.
Our wonderful ladies from the sewing group also thoroughly enjoyed sharing their knowledge and experience, learning alongside the younger generation and building meaningful connections across the generations.
