The huge amounts spent on US elections go into the pockets of Murdock, Bezos, Musk and Zuckerberg
paying for adverts.

awe have our faults, but electoral corruption is not one of them.

Councillors and Ostensible Authority

Hampshire ALC has recently received several queries about councillors contacting or negotiating with third parties without formal authority from their council.

This has highlighted the issue of ostensible authority and the potential risk of a council being seen as committed to an agreement where a third party reasonably believed that a councillor had authority to act on its behalf.
