424 (City of Southampton) Squadron Air Cadets
VOLENS ET POTENS

Welcome to the Page of 424 Squadron ATC, part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets. We are a thriving Squadron of cadets and volunteer staff undertaking activities such as flying and gliding, music, BTEC qualifications, first aid, adventure training, fieldcraft training, sport, UK and Overseas camps, the Duke of Edinburgh Award and much more. We take on new cadets aged between 12 (in Year 8) and 17 years, and cadets are able to remain part of the Air Cadets until their 20th birthday. We will give you a tour of the Squadron and an introduction to the Air Cadets, giving you an opportunity to see if it's the organisation for you... and we imagine it will be! We are also always looking for adult staff volunteers and civilian committee members. Please email [email protected] if you are interested in helping us out in such a role. Venture Adventure! See you soon!

✈Flying - Last Thursday, a group of our cadets visited MOD Boscombe Down to do air experience flying, where they had the opportunity to fly in the Tutor T1.

The cadets were all given the controls of the aircraft at some point in their flights and even had the chance to practice aerobatics and stalls.

Recently, Sgt Hoque and Cpl Upham attended a camp in the Mendips where they completed many adventurous training activities including hiking, climbing and caving!

Camps like this are a great opportunity for cadets to push themselves out of their comfort zones and have a excellent time. In addition to the day activities, the cadets worked as teams to cater for the camp, providing many personal development opportunities.

Thank you to all the staff who facilitated this camp!
