Huge congratulations to the Paddlesport team who represented the unit at the Wessex District Sea Cadets Paddle competition yesterday held at Salisbury Sea Cadets. Every single cadet put it a great effort and earned points for the team. With hard earned gold medals received by many of the cadets. The junior boys won the overall trophy.
BZ to all the cadets and good luck at Southern Area Sea Cadets competition in July.
Thank you to all the adult volunteers that allowed the day to happen and for all the training that has been taking place.

❗National Drowning Prevention Week

Sea Cadets take water safety seriously.

As part of our water safety training we help young people learn how to stay safe in and around the water.

🙌Here are some Top Tips to keep you safe around the water:

📌If you suddenly fall into cold water, try not to panic or swim hard straight away, especially if you’re not wearing a buoyancy aid.
💙Cold water shock can make you gasp and feel out of control for the first minute or two.
✅Instead, float on your back, keep your head tilted back with your ears in the water, and use your hands to help you stay afloat while you calm your breathing.
❗Once the shock has passed, call for help or swim to safety if you’re able to.

❗Remember: Float to Live – it could save your life.
Help keep your friends and family safe by sharing this message and talking about it together❗

*** Unit Awards ***

Over the past few weeks, our unit has been delighted to receive several awards at Unit, Area, and National levels. These achievements highlight the fantastic work happening across our organisation.

Every award reflects the dedication of our cadets, the commitment of our adult volunteers, and the ongoing support of our trustees.

Each person plays a part in what we do, and it’s wonderful to see those efforts recognised.

We’re especially proud to be acknowledged for the positive impact we make within the wider community.

Our support for a range of charities beyond the Sea Cadets shows how committed we are to helping others and living our values in a meaningful way.

These awards celebrate who we are as a unit — a team that works hard, supports one another, and strives to make a difference.

Last night we held our final Commanding Officer’s Divisions for our CO before she departs the unit to take up her new post as District Officer. It was a fantastic evening celebrating the hard work and dedication of our cadets. A huge number of awards, qualifications, and promotions were presented — including Duke of Edinburgh, Btech Level One certificates and two Commodore’s Pennants, the highest honour a Junior Cadet can achieve.
