⚓🏆 **SOUTHAMPTON SEA CADETS – AGM & ANNUAL AWARDS 2026** 🏆⚓

Last night, we had the pleasure of holding our Annual General Meeting and Annual Awards at ** Solent University, Southampton **.

A huge thank you to ** Warsash Maritime School ** for kindly hosting tours of their impressive bridge and engineering simulators, giving our cadets and guests a fantastic insight into the world of maritime training and engineering! 🚢⚙️

The evening was also an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding achievements, dedication and commitment of our cadets and volunteers over the past year.

🏆 Congratulations to all our award winners and those who received special mentions! Every achievement is something to be proud of, and it's fantastic to see the hard work and enthusiasm of our cadets recognised.

👏 Thank you to everyone who continues to support Southampton Sea Cadets and helps make these achievements possible. Your time, dedication and encouragement make a real difference to our unit.

Members of the unit band were out today with the Wessex District Sea Cadets band celebrating the end of the first National Cadets Week.

We were joined by drummers from the RAF cadets and led the parade to the event venue, where we started the arena displays with a short programme of music.

Well done to all cadets and cadet force adult volunteers who were out today. You were amazing.

This weekend, our cadets will be proudly representing the unit at two fantastic events as part of the

🌟First National Cadet Week celebrations.🌟

🥁 Ferndown Community Parade🎺
Members of our band will be taking part in the parade, showcasing their musical talent and pride in the Cadet Forces.

⚓ Portsmouth Historic Dockyard⚓
We will also have cadets attending this special event, helping to highlight the opportunities and experiences available through the Cadet Forces.

Both events are free to attend, so if you're in the area, please come along, show your support, and help celebrate the incredible contributions of our cadets and volunteers.

⚓️🎉 END OF SUMMER DIVISIONS 🎉⚓️

Last night we held our End of Summer Divisions, bringing together our cadets, parents, staff and special guests to celebrate what has been a fantastic summer at Southampton Sea Cadets.

We were delighted to welcome representatives from the Southampton Shipowners’ Association, who kindly presented the unit with an incredible £6,205 donation. This generous support is hugely appreciated and will make a real difference to our cadets and the opportunities we can provide. ⚓️👏

With our cadets looking incredibly smart and their proud parents watching on, it was a fantastic evening of celebration as we recognised the many achievements of our young people.

A massive congratulations to Lt(SCC) Zobel RNR on her promotion!

Her dedication, drive, and commitment to both the unit and district have shone through year after year — and today, it’s recognised in the best way.

A truly deserved achievement.

A huge congratulations to our District Warrant Officer, Lt Zobel, who successfully passed ODP 2 this weekend at HMS Raleigh!

After more than 10 years serving as the District Warrant Officer, it is fantastic to see this well-deserved promotion to Lieutenant.

Throughout those years, Lt Zobel has shown incredible dedication, leadership and commitment to the District and to the cadets and adult volunteers within it. This promotion is a fitting recognition of the time, effort and support given over many years

What a busy day on the water! 🚣‍♂️⛵⚓

Today saw loads going on, with cadets taking part in a PSRC course, a Discover Paddle course, Southampton Unit sailing and Wi******er Unit sailing.

It was brilliant to see so many cadets out on the water at the same time, learning new skills, building confidence and, most importantly, enjoying themselves.

Days like this really show the range of opportunities available through Sea Cadets, from paddlesport and powerboating to sailing and beyond.

A massive thank you to all the staff and volunteers who gave up their time to make today happen, and a big well done to every cadet who got involved. 👏

8. Election/Re-election of the Unit Management Team (UMT) trustees*
9. Any Other Business (Items of AOB will only be considered if they are proposed and seconded in writing to the unit secretary at least 24 hours before the meeting.

• Election of the Unit Management Team (UMT) trustees – Individuals who are seeking election to the UMT must have their nomination proposed and seconded.

• Nominations for new trustees can only be accepted if they are submitted on the official nomination form. This can be obtained from John Onslow (Unit Secretary).
