Morning !!
I know it’s been a long time since I posted life has been very hectic with the boys and being at university but thought I’d do a little catch up on what’s been happening .
Some Big changes this year ….
archie is leaving primary and going to secondary school 🙈🙈
we found out in feb that archie got our preferred choice of school which is brilliant!!
The down side is we’ve had an absolute nightmare with Archie’s EHCP.
It had to be amended and the finalised one is now missing so much information that Archie’s current school put in . Missing vital info from myself aswell , so now Archie’s stuck with an EHCP what’s meant to be a legal document which doesn’t reflect his needs at all !!!!
5 weeks myself and the school have been trying to contact Archie’s case worker with no response !!
Not only this the local authority have only given us our choice of secondary school on the condition i don’t apply for transport.
How bad is that !! ??
Never mind it’s the only school within the area that can meet Archie’s needs 100% …
I know this because our catchment school told us they couldn’t meet his needs . Archie is entitled to the transport as it’s over 3 miles and he has a physical disability. So now I have to take the whole thing to mediation !
As well as this , Archie’s brother got rejected from cahms 3 times !!!! To which I then had to go down the private route of getting him assessed for adhd . Over the last 6 months we have been paying privately for his medication which has completely transformed his life as well as mine . We are now waiting to see if the NHS will accept shared care so we can move his prescriptions over . I have no doubt this this will probably be another fight .
Anyway my point is . Is that both my children are entitled to basic needs that are beyond their control as vulnerable children and the fact that I have to fight with everything I have all of the time to get any of these needs met is shocking !!
The system is broken and it’s failing children all over the uk !!
