Southampton Marrow We're Marrow- the life-saving, myth-busting, student-led branch of Anthony Nolan! Students make some of the best donors as they are young, fit and healthy.

Marrow works with Anthony Nolan to recruit potential donors onto their stem cell register to help save the lives of people with blood cancer. Marrow is a voluntary student organisation, we run events to sign up potential stem cell donors & fundraising events, (as well as socials to get to know the group). We are always looking for new volunteers and we give training so they are comfortable knowing how to help at events. If you're interested in volunteering or signing up to the register, simply message the page or post on the wall and one of the committee will get back to you :)

It’s coming to that time of year when we elect our new committee for the next year and we’d love you to be on it! Our AGM will be held on 20th June 2022 at 7pm

We have a variety of roles available, each equipping you with a unique set of transferable skills and allowing you to be a part of a large, supportive community that is changing lives every day.

To submit your application, you go to https://forms.office.com/r/fRq7KjJZQg and nominate yourself for one of our roles. The role descriptions are also on the nomination page.

We are looking for
- President
- Fundraising Officer/Treasurer
- Donor Recruitment Officer
- Social Media Officer

The deadline to nominate yourself is end of the day on 17th June 2022.

📢 CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!📢

We are holding our first donor recruitment event TOMORROW at 6pm!

Did you know that 71% of people from White European backgrounds can find the best possible donor match for a stem cell transplant. However, this falls to just 37% for people from a minatory ethnic background. This needs to change!

As part of tackling this inequality, Southampton Marrow’s aim is to encourage people from ethnic minority communities to sign up to the stem cell register!
