Its mission is to foster the development of the Muslim community, interfaith relations, civic engagement, and better understanding of Islam as well as helping the needy of the community (i.e. elderly and children as per commanded in Islam)
Description
Our aim is to bring communities together with mutual respect, to create understanding between communities, and help the needy of the community i.e. elderly, disabled and children as per commanded in Islam and organise community events such as providing food for the homeless and the less fortunate, creating environmental awareness
Services
Hampshire Islamic Outreach Society offers the following services:
1) Voluntary work for elderly and disabled children: Organising visits to care homes to let residents have enjoyable times
2) Collecting food for the homeless and the needy to let them know that they are remembered by the community.
3) Informative and social visits to schools, colleges and community centres: We have a group of volunteers who can visit institutions to talk about the Islamic faith and Muslim culture. The visits can be catered for the specific needs of the institutions and students.
4) Literature Request: If you would like information about Islam and Muslims we can provide them in different formats to cater to your needs.
5) We have literature and multimedia on basics of Islam, comparative religion, science & Islam, history and many more topics.
