The Scouts and Cubs recently undertook some swim tests to ensure they can stay safe during boating activities. Water safety is critical as we live so close to the water and love to enjoy the coast.

Do you know how to maybe have a competition with your brother, sister or friends and see who can float the longest next time you’re in the water.

Can you also spot the 4 dangers in the photos?

We are looking to replace our door for a upvc type door with fire push button/bar, if anyone knows of a company or trade who and supply and fit we would very much appreciate some details so we can gather some prices.

Following recent interest we have now gone live to preorder some merchandise celebrating 90 years of Hythe Sea Scouts.
The first orders will be placed at the end of April, this is so we have bulk order for the best prices so please do take a look and order from now.

All proceeds made will go directly to the group and support on going fundraising efforts which benefit our young people.

🚧 We have been notified of works happening on Shore Road 10th March - 11th March which will result in the closure of shore road between the Scout hut and the level crossing.

These works are scheduled to begin on Monday, 10th March, and are expected to take two days to complete. During this period, the road will be closed from approximately 07:30 to 18:00 each day.

Adverse weather or unforeseen circumstances may still lead to short-notice changes. We will make every effort to provide timely updates, although communicating these to the public at short notice can be challenging.

Advance warning signs have been erected on site. New Forest District Council and Hythe & Dibden Parish Council have also been copied into this email for their information.

For those who need to access the hut during this time will need to do so from the village side.

Unfortunately our floor has failed again and it’s clear that constant fixes just won’t be enough, also we aren’t in a position right now to replace the floor so need to look at what the cause is and deign a fix.
We originally thought water was only coming through at high tide so upgraded our fire escape to stop waves coming in but it’s now apparent the ground water is also an issue.

Following research it appears we need to install a french drain to divert the ground water away from the building.

Our ask is to any local business or building trade who are able to help us with the supply of materials to install a French drain.
