With a background in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton, Luiza brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. Having completed her LLB with a specialization in Maritime Law, she is currently on her journey to qualify as a solicitor through the SQE route.
During this online event, Luiza will delve into her experiences at Southampton University and her journey to becoming a solicitor. She will offer invaluable advice for aspiring legal professionals interested in maritime law.

โœ… During her university years, Luiza's leadership abilities shone through her role as President of the Spanish, Latin American, and Portuguese Society (SLAPs), where she fostered cultural exchange and community engagement among diverse student groups.
โœ… As the visionary founder of The Maritime Law Student Association, which has since evolved into The International Maritime Law Student Association, Luiza demonstrated her passion for maritime law and her dedication to creating a platform for students to connect, learn, and grow within the field.
โœ… Balancing her commitment to professional development and academic excellence, Luiza embarked on her qualifying work experience journey at CJC immediately after graduating in July 2021. While gaining practical legal experience, she concurrently pursued her training contract, showcasing her multitasking abilities and determination to excel in her legal career.

In just under a week, our network has rapidly grown, approaching the milestone of our first 100 members. We're thrilled to welcome aspiring lawyers and students from the UK, Nigeria, India, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Norway, Pakistan, and South Africa who have joined our Association. Your participation is the driving force behind positive change, and we're grateful to have each one of you as a member.

Exciting news: On January 8th, we'll be launching a call for Board and team members. We encourage all of you to join and help us expand the reach of our Association alongside other dedicated individuals. For those of you keen on dispute resolution, this post highlights an exciting opportunity โ€“ the International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot (IMLAM). The 2024 edition will be hosted by the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law, Swansea University. IMLAM features a case involving commercial maritime law, resolved before an arbitral tribunal, with the 2024 Scenario already released.

The registration deadline is approaching on 23rd January 2024. Familiarise yourself with the rules to ensure eligibility for participation.
