🎄✨ Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Feed the Community Program CIC ✨🎄
As we reflect on this festive season, we want to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Feed the Community Program CIC throughout the year.
This Christmas was truly special for us. We hosted a joyful community Christmas party and continued our weekly Friday food support, ensuring people were fed, supported, and reminded that they are not alone.
A very special thank you to Tesco our longest and highest supporter. Your continued generosity makes a real difference week after week.
We also want to give a big shout-out to Vicky, Tesco’s Charity Manager, who went above and beyond to secure special Christmas donations for our community. Thanks to her support, families and young people received gifts including clothing, chocolates, stationery, and thoughtful items that brought genuine smiles and joy.
What was especially moving was seeing elderly ladies attend our Christmas party and leave with gifts they could pass on to their grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Even when finances are tight, being able to give brings dignity, pride, and happiness and that is exactly what community is about.
Throughout December, we continued to see new people walk through our doors, including young people and families in urgent need. Some were waiting for payments to come through; others simply needed emergency support. At Feed the Community, we operate self-referral and support at the point of need, because no one should go hungry or struggle in silence.
We also saw community support officers come in and enquire how to recommend our services for the clients they support.
We are also deeply encouraged by the number of young people stepping forward to volunteer, wanting to give back after seeing the impact of this work. That spirit gives us hope for the future.
🚐 Volunteer Call-Out
As our work continues to grow, we are currently looking for volunteers with a driving licence who are:
* Physically able to lift food donations
* Available for Thursday evening collections and Friday morning collections.
If this is you or someone you know, please get in touch , your support would make a huge difference.
📅 January Closure Notice
We would also like to let our community know that the food bank will be closed in January. This is due to a family bereavement, as our CEO will be away attending funeral arrangements.
We plan to reopen in February 6th and we look forward to welcoming everyone back then.
💛 A Message from Our CEO
Victoria Ugwoeme says "This work has always been about people about dignity, compassion, and showing up when it matters most. Even in challenging moments, seeing lives impacted, people fed, and communities strengthened reminds me why this work is so important. Thank you for standing with us, believing in us, and being part of this journey. Together, we are building a community, something powerful.
With great pride and joy here we say tank you to our amazing volunteers, supporters, donors, partners, and community members for walking this journey with us.
We wish you all a peaceful New Year, and we look forward to strengthening our impact together in 2026
