We're delighted to share that earlier this month, our Church Leader, Paul Woodman, was installed as an Ecumenical Canon at Wi******er Cathedral.

It's a significant honour, but more than that, it's a recognition of years spent faithfully serving people and helping others encounter Jesus.

Paul reflected on the day: "To be appointed as an Ecumenical Canon is both a privilege and a responsibility. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the wider Church in this way and remain committed to working together across denominations to see lives transformed by the love of Christ."

What does 25 years of welcome, friendship, and second chances look like?

CLEAR recently celebrated a remarkable milestone – 25 years of helping refugees and people seeking safety rebuild their lives here in Southampton.

Over the years, CLEAR has supported thousands of people through practical help, English language learning, advice, encouragement, and something that can be just as important – a listening ear. For many, what started as support became community, and what felt unfamiliar became home.

The celebration, held at the Lord Mayor’s Parlour, brought together clients, volunteers, staff, community leaders, and partners from across the city. Stories were shared, friendships were celebrated, and an evening of food and music showcased the rich cultures and experiences that make our city stronger.

We're grateful for the work CLEAR continues to do and for everyone who helps make Southampton a place of compassion, welcome, and hope for those seeking a new beginning.
