Bridge the Gap creates a footballing community that connects young adults. Together we build friendships, develop leaders and transform lives.

“BTG has changed my life. It’s the best thing I have ever done.” ⚽

Hayden had no church background and never felt he belonged anywhere. He came for the football and found so much more. Now he’s on the core team at Bridge the Gap Herts ⚽🩷 , welcoming other men the way he was welcomed.

It happens again and again: someone comes for the football and finds a community. 🙌

62% of our players who aren’t Christians say they are open to explore faith. We invite everyone to try Alpha UK or come to church, but it’s only ever an invitation. 💌

Yes, no or not yet? Your place on the pitch is the same. 💚

We asked our players how they’re really doing.

🤝100% feel welcomed and valued
❤️97% say their mental health has been supported or improved
✅ 96% noticed a positive change
🫶91% feel less lonely or isolated

It comes from turning up every week to the same pitch, with the same people, and being missed when you aren’t there.

Across 50 BTG Football Communities, 150+ volunteer leaders know the people at their site by name. You’re valued because you come along, not because you won the game the last session.

As one BTG Leeds player says: “Everyone’s so lovely and inviting.” Plenty of young people spend the week looking like they’ve got everything together. For one session a week, the pressure to have it all together is off.

This World Mental Health Day, if you know someone who could do with a team, there’s a place for them.

⛳ What a day at Tylney Park ⛳
Last Friday, we hosted our annual Charity Golf Day at the incredible Tynley Park Golf Club. Supporters, players and partners of BTG took on the 18-hole course all in aid of raising vital funds for the work of Bridge the Gap Football across the UK.

Every pound raised from the day contributes directly to our work, building relationships, developing leaders, and transforming lives through football. It’s what funds the sessions where players tell us they feel less isolated, welcomed and valued.

100% say they feel welcomed and valued.
97% of our players report improved mental health.
91% say they feel less lonely or isolated.

A huge thanks to everyone who teed off with us, to the team at Tylney Park for hosting us so well, and to everyone who backed the day.
