Folding Tables

We have several events to go to this year. The first one being https://facebook.com/events/s/fawley-village-summer-fete/906868081949762/

All of the events are either promotional like saturday, to show people how to get invovled, or fundraising to help keep us keep the doors open.
Sadly all of our folding tables have broken, they are very old and been used for many years.

Does anyone have a folding table like the ones in the picture we they dont need anymore?
They need ro be sturdy, so they are safe.
Ideally we need 3, but even just getting one would help.
It will save us having to use piles of supermarket creates !

Thank you in advance and hope to see you saturday

Tuesday 16th June
For our 2nd film night we are showing

System Update to Reboot Our Future

System Update to Reboot Our Future In an era of accelerating climate change and cascading impacts, System Update is a bold new public documentary film that offers a vital look at how transformative shifts in politics, economics, and society can protect people from climate catastrophe. System Update calls for a reboot of outdated systems that have failed to respond to the climate crisis. Producers Paul Maple and Professor James D**e from the Global Systems Institute, University of Exeter, bring together world-leading experts and change-makers to explain why these systemic changes are critical, and how they can be achieved.
The film explores how past social movements, such as the suffragettes and the civil rights movement, have paved the way for monumental change, and shows how the same spirit can drive climate action today.

We hopefully will be joined by Paul Maple for a discussion on the film after the showing.

Its Volunteers week !

Everything we do at New Forest Aquaponics cic is volunteer led. We could not do any of the stuff we do without the wonderful community of volunteers who come together every day to make this all work.
Time and time again they step up and help to build a stong network for our community.
Very much community supporting community.

If you would like to join any of our teams, drop ys a message, or if you would like to look at other projects we a working on again get in touch.

We are looking out for a handyperson or person's and garden/ composting team members for Lucie's Place.

Ps Cook Up is back on today if you want to come and have a chat about volunteering.

If you have been past Lucie's Place this week you may have seen we have been busy!
This skip is mainly filled with rubbish that has been left in the garden by previous tennents, some of it was very old.
The skip cost us quite a chunk out of our budget, so if you would like to help cover the cost we would be super grateful.
Its now gone and this means we can start on some very exciting additions to the garden!
We are aiming to make it a green oasis that can be used by the community.
We have been making compost right fom the start with all the overgrown plants, and this is now fab compost. I was so pleased to see a slow worm and a cockchafer larvea in the compost. Community includes these guys as well :-)
6 creates of potatoes have been planted up. If you would like to have a go at potatoes, we have quite a few sprouting pots you can pick up at todays pantry session. There are creates outside and we can supply you with cardboard to line them with, just dont have enough compost to go round.

As you can see we dont yet have enough plants to call the garden a green oasis......if you have spare plants please think of us, anything we can fill the space with.

We are really sorry to say we are going to have to cancel this weeks cook up.
Between all of our volunteers on holiday, a few urgent things we need to get done this week, plus the heat the sensible thing to do is cancel.
Really really sorry, we dont miss many in a year, but sometimes it just cant be helped.

But we will be back next week so we will see you then!

Pantry is open as normal Wednesday 5 - 8pm and Friday 1 -4pm.

If your coming Wednesday please be aware there will be a bit less parking this week.
