Over the bank holiday the group was camping at Braggers Wood on group camp with over 70 young people joining us over the weekend.
Saturday was filled with a Mini Olympics with all the sections competing in different events, with shooting, sailing, silly egg and spoon and much much more. We finished with a campfire and wide games.
Sunday was spent on the beach for the Beavers and Cubs with a sandcastle completion whilst the scouts spent their day learning bushcraft skills at the campsite. This was followed by bouldering and whittling in the evening.

Thank you to all the volunteers who made such a great weekend possible! We’re really proud of all young people who were so well behaved and a credit to the group.

This is a fantastic local resource for the community, run by scouts for the community. To keep it running it needs support, read below to find out more.

In October, our septic system failed, forcing us to close all toilets and showers. While we planned for a repair this February, our contractors instead discovered a catastrophic, historic failure of the entire treatment plant - an issue dating back years before we even took over Woodmill.

A full replacement will cost over £120,000 and take at least a year to complete. With our peak season just weeks away, hundreds of school, youth, and Scout bookings are now in immediate jeopardy. Without an urgent temporary solution, the future of Woodmill is at risk.

The scouts had an amazing time this weekend immersing themselves in the world of F1. They designed and built go-karts themselves. Painted and then raced them all at outdoor activities centre.
