Come along for a fun-filled day with something for everyone – games, food, music, and activities for all ages! While we enjoy the day together, we’ll also be shining a light on an important message: standing up against hate crime and building a safer, more inclusive community for all.

November is Islamophobia Awareness Month

We must make sure to stamp out Islamophobia from our workplaces and society in general.

Home Office data ending March 2024 shows that 38% of religious hate crimes recorded by the police were against Muslims.

1. Over 70% of young Muslims in the UK who say they experience mental health struggles, also say they have been victims of Islamophobia.

2. 42% of Mosques experienced a religiously motivated attack in the last 3 years and of those, 83% have been attacked at least once a year.

3. 59% of all news articles associate Muslims with negative behaviour.

4. Discrimination against Muslims is pushed by ‘Irrelevant’ and ‘Misleading’ headlines about Muslims, with the highest proportion of ‘Antagonistic’ articles being from The Spectator (37.3%).
