Monday night the lads were busy getting their EDOFE accounts up to date and making sure we're all set for this summer's expedition 🥾🏕️. Once the admin was done 💻✅, it was time for waffles 🧇... some turned out better than others! 😂🤦‍♂️🤣

Friday Nights 🌙 at Ocean Road Youth Centre

Youth Workers from both South Tyneside Youth Service and Ocean Road Youth Centre have joined forces to offer a Safe Space for Young People every Friday evening 🫶

Ocean Road Centre is open every Friday 6-8pm offering 11-17 year olds👇

✌️A non-judgemental safe space to hang out
🙋Friendly Youth Workers
🫶Drop-in service for advice and support
📱Free phone charging facilities
🍕Free snacks and refreshments
⚽️A range of free activities, from football in the brand new sports hall, decks/music, a space to chill with friends with no pressures and more
📣Opportunities for young people to decide on future activities and events

And the bonus is... all of this 👆is FREE!! 😲

So, if you are aged 11-17 and passing the Youth Centre on a Friday night, pop in, say Hello and see what it's all about 😁

In addition to this we also have a team of Detached Youth Workers out every Friday and Saturday evening in South Shields, offering signposting, information, advice and support! If you see the team (with 'YOUTH WORKER' on the back of their tops) please say Hi to them.. we promise they are friendly 😜

We will miss you, Sheila. Thanks for everything, Ashton, Abby and Dean. 🧡Enjoy your retirement!

Today we said goodbye to our cook Sheila who is retiring from the Centre. Sheila has built the cafe up from scratch and been the anchor for 10 years. She now passes the baton (and her scone recipe) on.

We thank her sincerely for all her hard work and wish her all the best as she hangs up her apron and heads to her allotment for more relaxing times.
