South Shields Volunteer Lifeguard Club We offer training in all RLSS Lifesaving and Lifeguarding awards. Based at Mowbray Lifeguard Station, Sandhaven Beach, South Shields.

Our pool sessions for Rookies are on Saturdays 5-6pm at Boldon School and Tuesdays 7-8.30pm for Seniors

It’s here! Today marks the first day of Drowning Prevention Week 2026!

We are equipping children and young people with essential water safety and lifesaving skills ahead of the summer holidays.

Through education and awareness, we are working towards communities free from drowning. But to achieve this, we need your help.

Whether you’re a parent, carer, school, club, business, or organisation, get involved, join us to spread vital water safety messages this week.

Drowning is preventable, and together, we can save lives. 🛟
