Posting earlier today we are getting ready for the Awards tonight.

Today we a very busy and noisy day today but great. No bingo today 😞😞

It was meatball dinner today, mash, carrots, cabbage and rich gravy. 150 meatballs dished out, 40 portions.
Nicola and Ade held their own with the puddings. All of which was enjoyed by everyone, some even had seconds.😋😋
We had lots of professional visitors today, Kevin from Shelter, Tia from Oasis Community Housing: Hope. Not Homelessness, Ashley and Steve from Way Through, Abbie from STC Welfare Team, Rowan from STC Libraries, Sharon Ross from Oral Health and The Wise Group.
All were kept busy throughout the morning. Thank You all for your support.
In the kitchen, Jim and Nicola held the fort today, Ade a bit under the weather, hopefully feeling better.

Lots of new faces today, two homeless gentleman who were able to have a shower and talk to the professionals feeling a little human.

Wednesday our prep day. Prep done and the cake making starts with our two fantastic volunteers.
Cake making is a new experience for both of them and greatly anticipated by both.
We had two tray bakes, first time ever, hand never used a food mixer before, guess what is on the Christmas list this year.
Battenberg was the second success, another first time.
Looking forward to seeing the smiles on their faces as they served up their offerings tomorrow.❤️

Su***de Prevention Foundation
·
💙 JUNE IS MEN'S MENTAL HEALTH MONTH 💙
Let's learn something that is not talked about enough:
Globally, men account for the majority of su***de deaths. Every year, more than 500,000 men lose their lives to su***de — a heartbreaking reminder that too many are suffering in silence.
• Around 525,000 men die by su***de each year
• Over 10,000 every week
• More than 1,400 every day
• Approximately 60 every hour
• Nearly 1 man every minute
For generations, many men have been taught that showing emotion is weakness. They were told to "man up," stay strong, hide their pain, and carry their struggles alone.
But the truth is:
Men cry.
Men experience trauma.
Men struggle with anxiety and depression.
Men self-harm.
Men develop eating disorders.
Men face body image challenges.
Men get abused.
Men experience heartbreak.
Men go to therapy.
Men need love, support, and understanding.
And most importantly:
Men feel.
Research also shows that men are often less likely to seek professional help when struggling, even though many are facing overwhelming emotional pain. This is why conversations about men's mental health matter.
It is not unmanly to struggle.
It is not weak to ask for help.
It is not shameful to talk about your feelings.
This month, let us check on the men in our lives — the fathers, brothers, sons, husbands, friends, colleagues, and neighbors who may be carrying burdens we cannot see.
To every man silently battling his mental health:
We see you.
You matter.
Your feelings are valid.
You do not have to carry everything alone.
Let's encourage men to speak up, not just man up.
Because talking saves lives. 💙

Happy Heavenly Birthday to the funniest, caring and frustrating person all rolled into one, but he was "Our Brian Robinson". Another year without you but you are still talked about with happy memories, smiles always on the faces of those who bring your antics into conversation.
Hope you are still smiling 🤗

I will be having a cuppa on your seat later today

What a great day, the sun shining and loads of laughter today.
I am sure some of our little ladies had feathers in their knickers, proper belly laughs and tears (with laughter of course ) 😂😂
We were bursting at the seams today, we opened a little earlier and they kept coming well after the lunch was over, but we made sure our last gentleman had hot food and cakes. It was his first visit and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Our dinner today was donated by Linda from Salvation Army, nothing left, not a crumb. Thanks Linda ❤️
There are no photo's today, we went from zero to one hundred in minutes, sorry guys.
Our professionals were extremely busy, Stephen, Katie and Amy from Way Through and Abbie from STC Welfare Team.❤️
Tia from Oasis Community Housing: Hope. Not Homelessness, now has a new nick name" Roadrunner" as she never stops. ❤️
The support you give is priceless.

We welcomed back our much loved Librarian Rowan, you have been a miss. A bingo winner again ❤️❤️

We also said goodbye to Jasmine from Shelter it was her last visit with us today before she ventures onto something new. I am sure she will be as successful with her new role as she was with us. Thank You❤️❤️

We had lovely clothes donations form Natalie's mam and another donation from a lovely lady who has visited us before. We Thank you again.

In the kitchen doing their "thing" were Jim, Ade, Nic and Gail cooking, cleaning and smiling, what a team. Thank you ❤️❤️

We are now starting to get our heads together to plan our annual Christmas Dinner 🥳🥳🎄🌲🤗

Have a good weekend and mind the heat 🌞🌞
