We can’t use our Neighbourhood Plan to limit or reduce the amount of new home development in the town. So if we have to have more homes, where would you prefer to see them built?

Sorry it's been quiet on here lately. All the sub groups have been busy working together - agreeing objectives and producing policies to reflect your priorities, as collected in the questionnaires. As most of us are new to this and are having to take advice, it's taking a bit longer than we'd hoped.

Meeting notes:
D Worden said he attended an assembly at the Junior School and the children will be responding with their ideas. Visits to the other two schools are planned. This will help balance the fewer number of responses from younger people.

- M Cornelius reported on the initial analysis of the questionnaire responses. Having the online version of the survey also encouraged more younger people to respond. Overall 310 individuals and one organisation have responded. Initial analysis has shown the areas of particular concern. Of particular interest are the additional comments, many well thought out and articulated.

- discussion was held on the topics and areas for further, more detailed, research to gain greater insights.

- sub groups were agreed for the following:
Open spaces, including sports and leisure. Leads N Kingdon and M Cornelius.
Housing, including off road parking. Lead M Cornelius.
Employment. Lead P Bright.
Community including: arts and heritage; health and wellbeing and health provision. Leads L Winter, P Bishop and J Tomlinson.
Town Centre, including parking. Leads M Bushell and D Worden.
Parking and traffic management. Lead T Sparks.

- it was agreed that Lyn will draft notes for Facebook and draft Minutes will be put on the website.

The next meetings will be on 5th June and 11th July 2017.
