South Milford Memorial Park and Playing Fields Association is a registered charity (Ref: 523946) run by volunteers. As such, all funds raised are re-invested in the park and its facilities, to meet the needs of the local community and visitors. In partnership with the Parish Council and other village groups, the committee strive to preserve, enhance and protect this open space in accordance with n

ational guidelines, to enrich the quality of life of all users. Our aim is to promote healthy living through ‘not for profit’ sport and exercise; providing a safe and secure play-friendly environment, to have fun, exercise, meet friends and create memories. As a voluntary group, the committee will:
• conduct weekly park checks and litter picks, and arrange seasonal planting sessions and clean-up events;
• endeavour to hold both free and ticketed events, to promote the park and raise funds; and
• identify and explore all available funding opportunities, to maintain and improve the facilities. We are always happy to discuss any issues or concerns and welcome any feedback or questions. You can contact the committee via the park page www.facebook.com/SouthMilfordPark

The choir is gearing up - just 10 days to go!

Join us for a FREE Community Carol Singalong at St Mary’s Church from 4pm to 6pm on Sunday, 14th December.

Festive refreshments will be on sale in the Church Hall starting at 4pm.

There will be some disruption in the park over the next few days as the Junior area swings are being replaced and upgraded to a accessible set up of two swings and a basket swing.

Some repairs have already been completed on the Junior multi-play unit, with the damaged wood being replaced.

We are hoping to upgrade the other equipment in the park as and when funds become available. We are, as always, looking for funding opportunities.

A big THANK YOU to everyone that helped with the park clean-up yesterday.

We managed to clear all the weeds, cut back the hedging and wipe down the play equipment in the Junior Playground, and also cleared all the cuttings from around the Memorial Garden.

Thanks to all the committee members and little volunteers.

We are having a Park clean-up tomorrow, between 10am-12pm

We won't be re-setting the goal posts tomorrow as they have suffered further damage. A decision will be made in the near future as to how we move forward.

If you can help tomorrow, please bring brushes, gardening tools and cloths - thank you

Just a reminder - NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED ANYWHERE IN THE PARK OR PLAYING FIELD

We have had a few incidents reported to us of people taking their dogs into the park and dog poo has been found on a couple of occasions.

This area of the village is for play and recreation and the rules are there to ensure that the park is a clean and safe area for everyone.
